Recap

Phillies 7, Rockies 4: Ty Wigginton homered and host Philadelphia rallied from an early deficit to complete a sweep of the doubleheader and the three-game series.

The Phillies stand six games behind St. Louis for the second wild card spot in the National League after winning for the 12th time in their last 16 games. Colorado committed five errors and lost its fifth straight.

B.J. Rosenberg (1-2) earned his first career win, and Jonathan Papelbon recorded his 32nd save for Philadelphia, which took the first game 3-2. Papelbon had two wins and a save during the series for the Phillies, who won their fourth straight and moved one game below .500 for the first time since June 5.

The Rockies led 4-1 in the third after Ramon Hernandez singled in a run and Chris Nelson followed with a three-run blast off starter Tyler Cloyd, who gave up four runs over four innings.

Philadelphia cut into the lead in the fourth on Ryan Howard’s two-run double off Josh Roenicke (4-2). Howard, who was thrown out trying to stretch the single into a double, has 31 RBIs in 30 home games this season.

The Phillies tied the game 4-4 in the sixth on Wigginton’s leadoff homer off Roenicke and moved ahead later in the inning when Kevin Frandsen’s infield single scored Michael Martinez.

Carlos Ruiz and Nate Schierholtz delivered run-scoring singles in the seventh as Philadelphia improved to 26-7 against Colorado since the start of the 2008 season.
