Recap

Rockies 7, Diamondbacks 6:
Todd Helton went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, including a run-scoring double to break a 6-6 tie in the eighth inning, as host Colorado rallied from a four-run deficit.

Carlos Gonzalez hit a one-out single in the eighth off Bryan Shaw (0-1) and advanced to third when Shaw's pick-off attempt sailed down the right-field line. After Shaw struck out Troy Tulowitzki, Helton delivered a line drive down the left-field line.

Rex Brothers (1-1) pitched a scoreless eighth and Rafael Betancourt worked around a one-out single by Miguel Montero in the ninth to earn his second save.

Ramon Hernandez went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, including his first homer in a Rockies uniform. Tulowitzki had three hits and scored twice.

Colorado's Juan Nicasio, making his first start at Coors Field since breaking his neck Aug. 5, allowed six runs and five hits in 2 2/3 innings. Nicasio also issued five walks after allowing 19 in his previous 14 career starts.

Three of the walks came after two were out in the first inning, and Paul Goldschmidt made him pay with a two-run single.

After solo home runs by Hernandez in the first and Dexter Fowler in the second made it 2-2, Arizona scored four times in the third, highlighted by Montero's two-run homer.

Hernandez delivered a two-run double in the third and Helton's two-run single in the fourth made it 6-6.

Arizona starter Daniel Hudson allowed six runs and 10 hits in 3 2/3 innings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Nicasio was 4-1 with a 1.98 ERA in his previous eight starts at Coors Field. He cracked his C-1 vertebra when he fell headfirst to the ground after a line drive by Washington's Ian Desmond struck him in the head. Nicasio allowed only one run and got a no-decision in his first start of the season Sunday in Houston. ... Helton moved ahead of former Rockie Larry Walker and into a tie for 94th on the all-time RBI list with Pete Rose and Graig Nettles with 1,314. ... Colorado right fielder Michael Cuddyer dropped a fly ball, the third by a Rockies outfielder this week. Gonzalez did it Monday and Fowler on Thursday.
