Diamondbacks 5, Giants 4: Aaron Hill homered twice and had three RBIs as host Arizona defeated San Francisco for the second straight day.
Chris Young delivered two run-scoring doubles and Daniel Hudson worked into the seventh for the Diamondbacks, who beat the Giants for the seventh straight time.
Hill hit a solo blast in the first inning and a two-run shot in the second off Madison Bumgarner (0-1) to help Arizona build an early 4-0 lead en route to its first 2-0 start since 2002.
Pablo Sandoval and Brett Pill hit two-run homers for San Francisco.
Hudson (1-0) departed after Pill’s blast in the seventh pulled San Francisco within a run. He gave up four runs and five hits in 6 2/3 innings.
J.J. Putz struck out two in the ninth for his second save in two days.
Young doubled home runs in the first and fourth innings.
Sandoval hit his homer in the top of the fourth to cut Arizona’s lead to 4-2.
Bumgarner (0-1) allowed four runs and seven hits in four innings.
