Recap
Astros 6, Rangers 5: Chris Snyder, Carlos Lee and Justin Maxwell each homered as the Astros evened the three-game interleague series against visiting Texas.
Rangers starter Derek Holland (3-3) had allowed three home runs in his previous 47 2/3 innings, but gave up five runs on three homers over five innings.
Lucas Harrell (3-3) allowed four runs – one earned – with six strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings for the win. Brett Myers induced Josh Hamilton to ground into a double play to end the game and earn his 10th save.
David Murphy’s first career inside-the-park home run drove in three runs and capped a four-run third inning for the Rangers, who have lost four of their last six games.
Snyder began the Astros’ comeback with a solo blast in the third, and Lee and Maxwell hit two-run homers over the next two innings to give Houston its first lead.
Travis Buck added an insurance run with his pinch-hit RBI double in the sixth inning before the Rangers cut into the Astros’ lead on Hamilton’s sacrifice fly in the seventh.
