Recap

Twins 10, Mariners 0: Trevor Plouffe homered, doubled and drove in four runs to power host Minnesota to its rout of Seattle.

Backed by the offensive onslaught, Samuel Deduno (5-2) pitched a gem by striking out a career-high nine and allowing only two hits in seven scoreless innings.

Deduno retired 18 straight at one point and did not allow a walk for the first time this season to help the Twins halt a string of seven consecutive losses to the Mariners.

Josh Willingham clubbed his 32nd home run and Joe Mauer had three hits and two RBIs as Minnesota won for only the fourth time in its last 20 games.

Seattle left-hander Jason Vargas (13-9) was hit hard for the second straight start, surrendering six runs - five earned - and eight hits in 4 2/3 innings.

With the Twins holding a 3-0 lead, Plouffe clubbed his 20th homer in the fourth - his first blast since July 3. Willingham launched a missle into the second deck in left in the fifth inning for a 6-0 lead.

The Mariners lost for only the fourth time in 14 games and had their 11-game streak with at least one homer come to an end.
