Carlos Ruiz also belted a two-run homer and joined Placido Polanco by ripping an RBI double for the Phillies, who defeated the Rockies for the 21st time in their last 25 meetings. The victory was just Philadelphia's fourth in its last 16 contests overall and snapped a six-game home losing skid.
With the game tied at 1-1 in the fourth inning, Mayberry deposited a first-pitch fastball from Josh Outman (0-3) over the wall in left field. The two-run blast was Mayberry's sixth homer of the season.
Hamels (10-3) recorded his seventh win this season after a Phillies' loss. The southpaw allowed two runs on six hits and struck out seven.
Chad Qualls retired the side in order in the ninth to end the game.
Tyler Colvin and Chris Nelson had RBI singles for the reeling Rockies, who have dropped 11 of their last 12 games.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Philadelphia rookie infielder Freddy Galvis was suspended 50 games by Major League Baseball for testing positive for a banned substance. Galvis, who is on the disabled list with a back injury, batted .226 with three homers and 24 RBIs this season. ... The Phillies last lost seven straight home games from Aug. 12-19, 2004. ... Outman was making his fourth start since moving into the rotation.
