Recap

Mets 2, Padres 0: Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey won his fifth consecutive decision as host New York shut out San Diego for the second straight day.

Dickey (7-1) fanned 10 in 7 1/3 innings and allowed three hits as the Mets moved six games above .500 for the first time in nearly two years.

New York jumped on top in the first when David Wright walked, stole second and scored on Daniel Murphy’s line-drive hit to center. In the fifth, Mike Baxter led off with a double and came around on a wild pitch and a passed ball.

Tim Byrdak and Frank Francisco combined to get the final five outs for New York, with Francisco notching his 13th save in 15 tries.

San Diego's Edinson Volquez (2-5) lasted 5 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits.

The Padres have lost six of seven on their 10-game road trip. They’re 5-16 on the road.

Padres first baseman Yonder Alonso extended his hitting streak to 10 with a first-inning single, but was thrown out trying to stretch it to a double.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Mets improved to 15-6 in day games. ... Mets SS Ronny Cedeno, in an 0-for-14 slump, did not play after suffering leg cramps Saturday. ... Also resting was Padres CF Cameron Maybin, who’s dealing with a wrist injury.
