Recap

Red Sox 10, White Sox 3: Darnell McDonald highlighted a five-run sixth inning with a three-run double to break a 3-3 tie and also homered as visiting Boston won its fifth straight game.

McDonald, who was batting .100 entering the game, drove John Danks' first pitch into the left field corner to clear the bases and lift Daniel Bard to his first career victory as a starter. He added a solo shot in the ninth as Boston won by the identical score on back-to-back nights.

With one out in the sixth, four consecutive Boston hitters reached base on two walks and two singles before McDonald's hit. Marlon Byrd followed with an RBI single.

David Ortiz hit a two-run homer and went 2-for-4 to raise his average to .425 as the Red Sox have erupted for 52 runs in their last six games.

Bard (2-2) pitched a career-high seven innings and allowed three runs (two earned), six hits and struck out six. Danks (2-3) yielded seven runs, six hits and walked four in 5 2/3 innings.

Chicago took a 1-0 lead in the second when A.J. Pierzynski doubled home Alejandro De Aza with two outs.

Ortiz followed Kevin Youkilis' leadoff walk in the second and drove a 1-2 pitch from Danks into the right-field seats.

The White Sox tied it in the third after Alexei Ramirez scampered home on a passed ball by Kelly Shoppach and went ahead 3-2 when Paul Konerko turned Bard's 3-0 fastball into his 401st career homer.

The Red Sox added a pair runs in the seventh on RBI singles by Cody Ross and Shoppach.
