Orioles 2, Braves 0: Wei-Yin Chen pitched seven scoreless innings as visiting Baltimore blanked Atlanta for the second straight day.
The Orioles have won seven of eight while the Braves have dropped six of seven and have not scored in 20 straight innings.
Chen (7-2) won his third straight start, allowing six hits and a walk while fanning two. He was helped by three double plays in the first three innings. Troy Patton, Pedro Strop and Jim Johnson closed it out, with Johnson earning his 20th save in 21 chances.
Adam Jones led off the second with a ground-rule double and eventually scored on Mark Reynolds’ sacrifice fly. In the sixth, Braves starter Randall Delgado (4-7) was called for a balk that forced in a run to make it 2-0 Orioles.
Delgado fell to 0-4 in interleague starts despite allowing just three hits over eight innings. He struck out six and walked one.
Baltimore improved to 20-13 on the road, while Atlanta fell to 15-17 at home.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Braves 3B Chipper Jones returned to the lineup after taking Saturday off with a swollen left knee. He went 0-for-3 with a walk. … Atlanta’s Jair Jurrjens will replace the injured Brandon Beachy (elbow) and start Friday in Boston.
