Recap

Red-hot Jay Bruce and reigning MVP Joey Votto hit two-run homers late to provide the Cincinnati Reds a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over the visiting Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday at Great American Ball Park.

The win was the 13th in 15 games here for the Reds against the Brewers and prevented Milwaukee from winning consecutive games on the road for the first time since April 18-19 at Philadelphia.

Votto hit a towering two-run home run to dead center field off Kameron Loe (2-5) in the eighth inning to provide the winning margin. The homer spoiled another excellent start by Shaun Marcum, who yielded two runs and five hits in seven innings.

Bruce, who led the majors with 12 home runs and 33 RBIs in May, hit his NL-leading 17th homer in the seventh to cut into a 3-0 deficit.

Nick Masset (1-3) earned the win by striking out the only batter he faced, and Francisco Cordero worked a perfect ninth for his 10th save.

Rickie Weeks took Reds starter Mike Leake's second pitch of the game out to left field for his 24th career leadoff home run. It was Weeks' third leadoff homer this season — all three have come against the Reds, but Cincinnati has won each game.
