Michael Morse slugged his 23rd home run and drove in three runs as the Washington Nationals snapped a six-game losing streak with a 9-2 victory over the host Atlanta Braves on Tuesday.
Ryan Zimmerman, Danny Espinosa and Morse homered against Atlanta's Jair Jurrjens (13-6), who was tagged for six runs in six innings. Jurrjens is 1-3 since the All-Star break and 0-2 against the Nationals this season.
Laynce Nix homered against Braves reliever Cristhian Martinez.
Livan Hernandez (8-12) allowed two runs in seven innings and won for the first time since Aug. 12. He has allowed only three runs in 13 innings in his last two starts against Atlanta and outpitched Jurrjens for the second straight game (5-3 on Aug. 1).
