Recap
Brett Myers pitched seven scoreless innings and added a sacrifice fly as the Houston Astros topped the Cincinnati Reds 4-3 on Sunday.
Humberto Quintero added two RBIs and Chris Johnson hit a solo homer for the Astros, who pulled to within five games of .500 at 72-77.
Myers (13-7) allowed six hits while walking one and striking out five to improve to 5-0 over his last six outings. The veteran right-hander has now gone at least six innings in each of his 31 starts this season.
Myers got some support in the fifth when Quintero snapped a scoreless draw with a two-run single off rookie Travis Wood (5-4). Quintero, who had moved up to second on a trow and over to third on a throwing error, then came in to score when Myers lifted a sacrifice fly to center.
Johnson added his 10th homer in the seventh to provide an important insurance run, as Jy Bruce singled in a run and Ramon Hernandez clubbed a two-run homer off Matt Lindstrom in the eighth to cut it to 4-3.
Brandon Lyon worked a scoreless ninth for his 18th save.
