Recap
The Cleveland Indians overcame an early three-run deficit to earn a 4-3 win over the Detroit Tigers in the second half of Wednesday's doubleheader.
Ryan Raburn belted his 15th homer of the season in the first inning and Johnny Damon added an RBI single in the second.
The three-run lead didn’t last long as the Indians answered back with an RBI groundout in the bottom of the second. Jayson Nix swatted an RBI single in the fourth to narrow the deficit to one at 3-2.
Michael Brantley drove in the tying run with a triple before Trevor Crowe dropped down an RBI sacrifice bunt to score Brantley from third for what ended up to be the winning run.
Josh Tomlin (6-4) picked up the victory after giving up three runs and nine hits over five innings. Chris Perez earned his 23rd save by working 1 1/3 innings to close it out.
Justin Verlander (18-9) struck out 10 over seven innings, but took the loss after giving up four runs and seven hits.
