Mitch Talbot pitched six-plus solid innings and Shin-Soo Choo drove in the go-ahead run as the Cleveland Indians earned a 4-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night.
Talbot (9-11) allowed one unearned run on five hits in 6 2/3 innings with six strikeouts and one walk. Chris Perez pitched the final 1 1/3 innings for his 18th save.
The Indians scored two runs in the third on RBI singles by Asdrubal Cabrera and Choo for a 3-0 lead. Michael Brantley made it 4-0 in the fourth when he singled in Jason Donald.
The Mariners were held scoreless until the seventh when Ichiro Suzuki singled in Matt Tuiasosopo.
Russell Branyan pulled the Mariners to 4-2 with his 22nd homer off Rafael Perez in the eighth. Seattle had runners on second and third later in the eighth, but stranded them.
David Pauley (2-7) allowed four runs on seven hits in six innings to take the loss. He had five strikeouts and three walks.
