Stampeders 26, Eskimos 22: Rene Paredes converted all four of his field-goal attempts as visiting Calgary took advantage of turnovers to take the lead in the West Division.

Bo Levi Mitchell was 14-of-29 for 124 yards with one touchdown toss to Jeff Fuller, improving to 7-0 in career starts for the Stampeders (4-0). Keenan MacDougall blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown in the first quarter as Calgary scored all 20 of its first-half points off Edmonton turnovers.

Mike Reilly completed 19-of-34 passes for 212 yards, one touchdown and one interception for Edmonton (4-1), which suffered its first loss of the season. Shamawd Chambers caught a touchdown pass and Pat White scored on a 1-yard rush to open the second quarter as the Eskimos' defence limited the Stampeders to 239 total yards in a losing effort.

Calgary did not record a first down until midway through the second quarter but capitalized on a pair of special-teams turnovers by Edmonton to score 10 points in the first quarter. Mitchell threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Fuller with 10 seconds remaining in the first half after the Eskimos failed to gain a first down on a fake punt.

Reilly hit Chambers for a 32-yard TD to tie the score in the third, but Paredes connected on a 29-yard field goal late in the quarter to regain the lead for the Stampeders. Paredes added a 30-yard kick with 8:55 remaining in the fourth quarter to give Calgary some breathing room.
