Devils vs Sabres predictions
The New Jersey Devils and Buffalo Sabres have both disappointed a bit this season with similar records as we near the end of March. However, the Devils were able to address their goaltending issues at the trade deadline and are 4-1-0 in their past five games.
The Devils were outshot 45-25 in Toronto but came away with a 6-3 win. Trade deadline addition Jake Allen has been terrific for New Jersey with a 4-2-0 record, .925 SV%, and 2.51 GAA in six starts with the Devils.
New Jersey still has some slight hope in the Eastern Conference playoff race. They’re five points behind the Capitals for the final wild-card spot, although they’d have to leapfrog the Islanders and Red Wings as well.
On the flip side, the Sabres have been in a skid over the past two weeks. They are just 2-4-0 since their three-game winning streak earlier this month. What was once the same slim playoff hope that the Devils had has since been squandered.
The Sabres also have the league’s second-worst expected goals share over the past 10 games at 41.87%. Meanwhile, the Devils have been in the middle of the pack at 47.67% over that span.
Buffalo may be at home tonight but that hasn’t exactly been an advantage this season. The Sabres are just 17-18-1 at home compared to the Devils’ 19-15-2 road record.
The Devils are playing better hockey right now and have seemed to find something with Allen getting a change of scenery. They’ll try to keep their playoff hopes alive tonight in Buffalo.

Devils vs Sabres same-game parlay
The Devils are playing some really good hockey lately, boasting a 21-11 goal differential in their last five games.
They’ve also scored 10 goals throughout their last two games, which is part of the reason we’re riding the Over. Additionally, the last two meetings between these two teams saw nine goals in each contest.
Meanwhile, Timo Meier is playing on the top line and has registered 13 goals in 14 games this month. The Devils winger has also scored in two straight and four of his last five.
