If they're paying me the big bucks to make lines, these are what I would be making them as.
In no way am I trying to figure out what Mister Las Vegas will make them at.
Washington -4- Connecticut.....Sun have been road warriors so maybe this is too high.
LIberty +1 Sparks LIberty has been much better on the road, but most of their home games they've been favored. A coach like Laimbeer can use the "it's us against the world" ploy when he's an underdog....choleric type personalities always thrive on adversity, which is why they're typically good on the road. But the Sparks are under the gun as well. Sparks don't have the "it factor" this year, and I'd say until they get home and string some wins together that they'll be fade material.
Storm pik Lynx. Like I've said to one of our posters, the Storm plays the prettiest basketball in the league...how will they go against the ugliest team, the Lynx? The Lynx should concentrate on Jewel Lloyd and pound it inside, If the rest of the Storm team can produce at a high level they'd have a chance.
Dallas -1 Fever. Fever got embarrassed in a spot they should have performed well in last game. I didn't see much of anything to be encouraged about with them, it is a very bad sign when both your defense and your effort is bad, plus they have no scorers.
Fever -8- Stars. Stars got ground down to a pulp versus the Lynx, but there was some encouraging signs that the coach is competant and that their execution against a good defense was sound. They got killed inside and their defense wasn't good, but that was against the best team in the league. I was encouraged by the Stars.

1) When two non-conference teams play that won over 20 games last year and the away team is the favorite the record for that team has been 16-6 ATS before September. Sparks
2) When two non conference teams play that won less than 19 games last year and the away team is a dog....the record on the away dog is 37-26 ATS before July favoring the Fever, but if both teams are off away losses the record goes to 4-8 ATS.

Dallas has now lost both Paris and Christmas and they are already missing Powers. They will now have 9 players left and 5 of them rookies? Fever need a win badly. So do Dallas but this is experience vs rookies. Word on the street is that Liz Cambage is in Dallas to visit Erin Phillips. Maybe they can persuade her to play for them again.

ALso another reason this league is so tough to cap right now, so NY are about to suspend both Prince and Vaughn as they have European duties so they will resign Lindsay Allen to cover. This will happen this week sometime

Original line put out was Dallas -2 and LA -4.5...they must be giving these lines to very limited clients because I use pinnacle and they aren't giving me the openers.
The early betting is sharp, most of the games where the line has moved a couple 1.5 points or more have been winners in the direction of the move.
I more than likely will pass tomorrow, but the next three games after that I more than likely will be playing, I have some strong opinions right now, and unless they scare me off with some questionable lines I'll be in full throttle. This should be a very good week.

Since there are 9 players left i wonder why dallas gave so much points? I thought they are underdog for this match. Isnt sound fishy?

I am passing on tonight's games,...however I will give an opinion on a game that I am not playing personally. I mentioned earlier that the Fever are on my "no-play" list, and I am sticking to that. They do fall under a league trend that is 71-55 ATS (56%), but this performs better with bigger away underdogs of >4 points. Since this number is not in that proximity I am even less tempted to play on the Fever, who looked halfway to the morgue their last game versus the Storm. They're playing a team that is gritty, but young in the Wings,...any other team in the league, even the Sky I'd be taking the points, but no-can-do tonight.
In the history of my database, dogs do well in the beginning of the season in the WNBA,...so far that has not happened this season.,...perhaps as we hit June it will, as the changing of a month of brings a reversal of a trend.....like magic sometimes.
The other game, the Sparks continue to lay heavy lumber based on what happened last year....certainly not on present form....they look fadeable against non-conference foes the whole year as they'll be laying against every East opponent. Only when they play divisional rivals would I consider playing them. That being said, this is a bit of a gut check game for them off two straight losses and champs usually rise to the occasion when their pride is hurt. Teams off two straight losses on the road tend to perform well in a third straight road game in all codes of basketball as well.
