given the new nfl overtime rules is a 9 point overtime victory possible?
if the team that wins the coin toss drives and gets a field goal the game continues. what if that team then intercepts the ball and gets a pick 6? I realize that most rational players would go down and end the game but there are a few showboat divas out there that would take it to the house. would it count as a td and a 9 point victory?

think it would be a 10 point victory since they have to kick the extra point in the nfl

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the refs would blow the whistle as soon as defense gets possession of the ball, like they do on a point after TD situation, this came up in the first Jets-Pats game early this season, and I wondered what would happen if ball was loose in Jets end zone, but I think this is the only way you could win by more than 6 in OT...

I would find it hard to imagine that any player would even run the ball back if they got the int. they would most likely just take a knee and end the game. Unless, let's say, it was inside the 10 yd line and it was an absolutely jumped route. The teams have been coached to take to the dive when they get a int to end the game. But it could happen.

Came in to post this. Not 100% sure either but it makes sense

The original poster is correct. The team with the three point lead could recover a fumble in the end zone, or intercept a pass in the end zone, for example. (Easy to imagine if you picture the team backed up on their own 1 yard line. That team would then be awarded a touchdown and yes, they would then win by 9 points.
Furthermore, I'm not 100% convinced the refs would immediately blow their whistle if the team with the three point lead intercepted a pass anywhere on the field. I'm pretty sure they would let the play run until he was down by contact.
And yes, extra points are never, ever kicked in overtime.

Yes, given that if the first team possessing the ball kicks a fg on their initial possession, the opposing team gets a possession and there is the possibility of a pick six...no extra point. However, as riq pointed out, I doubt the team would even run the int back.

they don't kick XP in OT, not sure why when they require it with TD at the end of regulation. Because OT is for determining win/loss. Once a team scores 6 pts in OT, it wins.
BTW, it is possible for two teams to score as many as 12 pts in OT -- lot of pts for the Over
Absolutely incorrect... First team to score either a touchdown or safety wins period end of game... Most they can get is 9 points. Fg followed by the winning touchdown on the next possession

Lol Thornton you are an idiot. You honestly should stop betting sports and don't ever tell anyone you even try betting sports it's embarrassing. You CANNOT get 18 points in OT. You have no idea how it works. True, it's first to score a td or safety wins, but not always. If team a kicks fg and team b misses. Team a wins. If team a kicks fg and team b gets a fg. Team a can come down and win with a fg. Give up on sports bud

That is 100% ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE! The MAXIMUM you can score in OT is 9.
How the hell can you score 12? Once a team scores a TD the game is over. So please explain how the other team can score a TD after the game has ended on the first TD.
