There is no doubt in my mind that Stoops will get out coached again this week. What's sad is that it will be by a Tuberville. Regardless of the outcome of the game, unless Tuberville suffers a stroke on the sideline he'll coach the pants off Stoops. It's hard not to.
I'm torn about giving or taking the 5.5pts. But much better Sooner teams have had big trouble in Lubbock. I'm not so much worried about Lubbock on Saturday, but about the rest of the season which has a chance to be the most embarrassing in OU history. I see likely losses in Dallas vs Texas...in Norman vs Notre Dame...in Norman vs Baylor...at West Virginia...and at TCU. I think Iowa State will battle them to the end. And now that OSU has a new confidence from last years 44-10 thrashing they can't be discounted.
There is indeed unrest in Oklahoma right now. He's catching big-time heat from those who were at least comfortable with him before this season. Nobody's comfortable any more. Especially among those who remember what Sooner Magic was all about.
Sad but there are too many who believe the last 12 years have been grand. Others like me got used to dominating defenses and explosive offenses that came with great victories over great opponents. Those years were indeed grand. But those days are gone.

That loss to K-State was a bullshit effort. If the Sooners can't show up and be ready to play then Texas Tech will beat them too.
The only thing worse than 1 Stoops on the sideline is 2 Stoops' on the sideline. The defense doesn't fly to the ball, and the offense struggles throwing....and oh yeah, putting Bell in at QB on the goaline is already a negative proposition with his fumble vs K-State. That turnover sums it up for the Sooners...try and get cute and have it blow up in your face. Just give the ball to one of the rb's and get six points.
I am one of those people that has a little bit on OU over 10 wins on the season. That cash is most likely gone.....Texas looks better, OSU isn't bad, West Virginia scores, Baylor can score.......the Sooners are in big trouble, and they know it.
In my opinion, Stoops will retire at the end of this season to avoid the ax....and he will recommend his brother for the head job. One would think that the alumni in Norman will not allow Stoops to name his successor, but you never know.

Tubs has built a solid D at TTU just like he did here at Auburn. He's a bad recruiter, but a very good gameday coach. I could see this going either way.

i know ou isnt that good but, u guys actually tellin me that after that poor showing with k. state, and a week off getting drilled by the media . that they wont be able to beat texas tech... they better beat tech cause they will be in major trouble if they dont..

These players know who they're playing for by now. They've stood on the sidelines and seen that deer-in-the-headlights look on his face in the 4th quarter watching him melt down game after big game after big game.
This ain't what they signed up for. He can't get them to play with pride, heart, grit, and with a determination to win at all cost because he just doesn't know how. Lord I'd take Bo Pelini tomorrow.

No one knows the red raiders like I do and I will tell you the best thing tubbs does is recruit... Game day coaching is entirely done by Neal brown and art Kaufman, who is the best thing to come to Lubbock since Buffalo Wild Wings... This game will come down to the last possession and the team who turns the ball over more will end up losing... OU is not close to as good of a team as we beat in 2005 2007 and 2009 and while our offense isn't as good as it was in 2008 with Crabtree and Graham, our defense is the best since the Zachary Thomas and Spike Dykes era. I think we have what It takes to win and OU doesn't intimidate us especially in Lubbock. While I am concerned that they have had two weeks to prepare for this game, we haven't opened up our entire playbook yet and will throw out all the gadget plays in order to get the W this weekend. I had the second largest win or my gambling career last weekend taking my boys by one over ISU and I think we win Saturday but will be betting a couple hundred on OU money line so that if we lose it doesn't completely ruin my weekend. BoL on whatever you decide but don't forget this OU team isn't close to as good as they were last year when we won in Norman and we are so much better this year. It is amazing what having a quality defense will do to our offense, no need to press every drive for points knowing the only way To win involves scoring over 40 a game. Wreck em!

I gotta say this Pika. If the Sooners lose to Tech in Lubbock on Saturday.....then they will be like the crack addict that's finally hit rock bottom....high from their delusions of grandeur one minute then suddenly knocked off their throne by what in reality is just another 2nd tier Big 12 school.
Stoops better hope he has this team ready to play on Saturday. It won't be a cakewalk. Otherwise there could be a lynch mob waiting for him at the airport. They're already measuring up the rope.

Joe- First I'll say I haven't seen much Okl, but unless he's made several blunders managing a game, you thread title is wrong. It's up to the oc's and dc's to develop a game plan and make adjustments during the games. His position coaches developing guys during the week and recruiting good players obviously is a big part of it. But this mantra of Stoops being outcoached is overblown. He has his roots in the 4-3 defense and ran that shit nice at Kansas St and at Florida. He can coach a defense. Now, a lot of those principles might not match up well versus the spread offense. But the guy can teach. Now as far as being a figurehead, getting guys to play hard for him- those different facets- it's never been a problem before and it doesn't look like those are the issues now.

How many coaches have a better recrd over the last 12 years and how many Natl Championship games have they partici[pated in as well.
Stoops record in NC games is horrible. Who's been there the most in the last 12 years?
It won't take very long to add them up I promise.
Well said. I remember Gibbs-Schnelly-Blake. That being said, OU has to get back to getting better players. This team is not talented by their standards.

He can coach a defense??? But the guy can teach???
Do I have to post that clip from Boise St again. You know...the one with him on the sideline....last minute with him thinking game over then those deer-in-the-headlights look on his face as if he's just had his pocket picked as he strolled down the Champs-Elysees in Gay Parie?
Tell you what......you watch it again then come on back and we'll talk some more. Want me to post some USC-OU while I'm at it? And what's even more damning is that both these teams had AD...probably the greatest running back in OU history....

Do I have to post the Boise St clip again? Showing Big Game Bob on the sideline...with the game won and firmly in-hand...with that deer-in-the-headlights look on his face as if he's getting his pocket picked as he strolls down the Champs-Elsees in Gay Parie? Oh what the hell....here it is again. I've actually come to admire what they did.
I can post some USC-OU Nat'l Champ clips too if you like? Want me to remind you that both these teams had AD...the greatest running back in OU history in the backfield? Travesties.....both of them. Shameful...Shameful...Travesties.
Did anybody see the Geo Clooney movie Oh Brother when they ran ole Homer Stokes out on a rail? There's a rail in Norman waitin for Brother Big Game Bob.

Participation? Are you kidding? You're praising him for...PARTICIPATION?? Participation ain't good enough son...Participation?..You wanna talk...PARTICIPATION??
This conversation is about winning championships. There was a time in Norman when that was expected....Now we're learning how to accept 4 loss seasons.
PARTICIPATION???
Far superior coaches have been dismissed at OU for far less.
