I wasn't going to wager on this game at first but after sleeping most of the day at work, I changed my mind because this game has some real great value if it hits.
Besides wagering with Pinnacle, I always wager some duckets on our Provicial lottery as the odds they give on soccer are quite high. They go by name recognition most often instead of looking at the present or past situation. The bad thing about proline is that you need at least three right on a ticket to cash but if it hits like it sometimes does than you win big. They have Pompey at 3.00 to tie and 3.35 I believe against United.
Last Saturday United totally dominated Reading but just couldn't score. Reading from what I saw looked more intrested in just defending. They hardly even attempted to go at the United goal. Reading may be in for some tough times at the start of the season as Leroy Lita is out injured leaving only Kevin Doyle in attack. Thats why they only played one attacker at Manchester. When you really look at Uniteds last six games before Saturday they really haven't played that well. They lost 1-0 to Chelsea in the FA Cup. Lost 1-0 to West Ham. Lost 3-0 to AC Milan. Beat Man City 1-0 on a penalty kick and City missed a penalty kick in extra time to tie. Tied Chelsea 0-0. Beat Everton 4-2 after they trailed 2-0 at the half. Everton gave that game away with a own goal, dropped ball by the keeper and another defensive blunder. Now they will be without Rooney for 2 months. Carlos Tevez will replace Rooney but Sir Alex Ferguson even said that he didn't want to play Tevez until the drby match on Sunday vs City. Tevez he said needs time to get fit and get use to his teammates. Saha is injured as always, Solskjaer is injured and Smith is now at Newcastle so they have no other "TRUE" strikers.
Pompey blew a 2-1 lead away to Derby. Pompey can't be trusted away from home but at home they play real well. They have great fan support. Last season they beat United 2-1 and in the last four games at Fratton Park have beat United three times.
You obviously can't always bet against United but you have to pick your spots and I think they are vulnrable in this match. Pompey will play them tough and if they can get that first goal than a win could be on the cards.
United haven't been winning by more than 2 goals for quite some time and I don't think they will do it here either. I think Pompey either wins this game or it ends in a draw. Play (Portsmouth +0.5 &+1)

are they gonna drop more points heading into the manchester derby against a suddenly pretty good Man City team? could happen, that sounds like trouble.

I don't understand why some folks respond the way they do. The fact that United were all over Reading doesn't mean they were going to do the same at Portsmouth. Reading only wanted to defend and escape with a point. Was that the same Reading team that played at home against Chelsea?. Their effort was night and day. Obviously being at home they will put in more of a effort. If Leroy Lita was fit their tactics would have been different at United.
You said that I watched the game but i'm still fading them. What does one match have to do with the next?. Just because I pick them one week doesn't mean i'll wager on them every week. Like I said, you have to pick your spots because they will win more than they lose. I told you about their history at Portsmouth and I told you that Pompey would play them tough and either win or draw. If you just wager on a team just because of their name than you will be losing plenty of wagers.
What was so embarrassing about Uniteds opening day?. Readings keeper stood on his head all match. Just because Reading laid down doesn't mean Portsmouth were going to do the same.
