Star -- if the Democrats accepted and enacted the Tea Party/GOP plans, what do you think would have been the potential that there would have been a downgrade?

You're not stupid Star -- of course Boehner is gonna say that. Everyone says that they got most of what they want coming out of negotiations -- if not, then you're basically admitted you did a piss-poor job.
His plan was pretty solidly distinct from that preferred by the Tea Party, right? Boehner almost had problems getting his version through the House, remember?
Don't dodge the question though Star... if the Tea Party plan goes through, does the US still get downgraded? I doubt it, because from what I can tell, the S&P focused greatly on the fact that there was not enough austerity being enacted. The Tea Party plan would have given austerity, that's for sure.

Um, the Democrats agreed to the bill.
Obama, after borrowing 3.7 trillion and adding all that to the debt, signed it.
Watching you make these posts is literally incredible.
The S&P focused greatly on the fact that the brinksmanship of the GOP nearly crippled the USA
No, they did not.
You are lying yet again.

Boehner got 98% of what he wanted,
I think you should go on pretending he said this in a vacuum.
Really, I do. You are a shameless liar and frankly, not that bright.

Thank you Tea Party and GOP
One party wanted to make significant spending cuts, and make cuts greater than the debt ceiling was raised.
One party did not and in fact the President threatened to veto any such legislation.
This whole post is a parody.
