That $500,000 was likely borrowed by someone who was making $50-$75,000/yr. It's a good description of what I did when I started a business with a partner, only we created 5 permanent jobs.
That half-a-million dollar loan had nothing to do with the super rich, and I still don't think it's right that I pay more taxes than Warren Buffett.

Uber - I appreciate what you are saying, I am just tired of people comparing apples to oranges and trying to equate them. Yes they are both fruit, but if you want an apple orchard you can't plant orange trees.
Personally I think we all pay too much and we should cap all income taxes at 10% of earnings, same for cap gains and inheritance taxes. I further believe all of us need to pay our 10%, not just "those who can afford it".

You don't neccesarily need to make them actually pay more taxes..just don't give them a huge refund and not make them pay ANY taxes.
Our current tax code is an implied incentive to overpopulate the community.

I enjoy honest debates....
One year my brother, who has 4 kids and makes about 40k per year maybe 35k...got a refund of like 4 grand. He took that refund and went on a cruise to Greece and Italy for a week.
If he only had one kid he would've only gotten 1k and trust me...he don't spend that much dough on them kids.
Too many other stories I've heard where people don't even make enough cheddar to pay taxes get $2500 back....that isn't sustainable...and usually those that don't make enough don't spend it well or save it anyway.
What about that saying that if you took all the money in the US and gave it to the poor and lower middle class in ten years it would all be back in the same hands anyway because they don't spend it well.

I prefer to deal in real life examples and recommend the same. Charts and graphs only tell part of the story.

I completely agree with this. I got so sick of seeing all my old co-workers with 4 and 5 kids get back monster returns. All year I made much less than them due to taxes, even though our base pay was all the same.
Sorry for being responsible and not having kids when I'm not ready. Maybe I should just shoot out a couple and live off the system.
