As a Wings fan, that line scares me. History will surely say that Detroit has been a team on fire at home, while being shaky on the road. HOWEVER, it seems to be the exact opposite this year as they've played their best on the road and have lost some (what seemed to be) easy games at home, with or without rest.
I've always been impartial to playing against the biggest favorite on the boards as well, so perhaps that has me a little conceited to picking against them tonight as well...
Wings have been playing well lately, got a nice win over a hot Panther team not long ago, smacked the streaking Islanders around at the Joe, and played great at home the other night against a bipolar Ottawa. 3 straight home wins, I see the reason for optimism. Wings usually do make a run after the ASG each year to help keep them well in contention.
And finally I'll say a lot rides on who's playing in net for the Wings. Mrazek has been an absolute MONSTER this year in net, and has made the Wings looks silly for their Jimmy Howard 6yr or w.e deal as his play has been anything but starter material. Tough call imo, Wings are certainly the better team AT THIS MOMENT in time, so going with them isn't a bad choice....just the juice may be a bit much IMO.
