I cannot believe this game is at -110 either way. How the hell are superior Pens not favored ??!!!! Philly doesn't have their TWO BEST defensemen. They are as important to the team as Crosby and Malkin are to the Pens - - imagine the Pens playing without those guys.
The Flyers have two serviceable defensemen who can actually skate little. The others cannot - - Smith, Hatcher and Modry are all OLD and SLOW. How are they possibly going to stop the Pens' steamroller ?I don't get this line.
I'm a die hard Flyers fan but have cashed big time on Pit ML in games one and two. I'm going to Pit again. This will be a sweep. Flyers are too banged up for this type of team - - Edmonton Oilers of the 1980s revisited.

Richards needs to score 3 sh goals. Our PP is so bad without Timonen and Coburn controlling the puck.
Having said that, the home crowd gets us the win. Ive been to 4 games so far (4-0, fingers crossed) and it has been NUTS. Should be wild tomorrow night.

You like the Over? I was thinking this will be a tightly contested low scoring game. I don't think the flyers want an open game and the Pens will not want to make mistakes on the road.

I'm thinking the same thing. I'm taking the under. The pens can trap with the best of them (See: Rangers Series). What worries me is if the pens take an early lead the flyers may get desperate and open up their game.

Flyers defend their home ice today IMO. The building is going to be ridiculous, theyre going to come out and take it to the Pens immediately and should benefit from an early goal. I off course am a Flyers fan so my opinion is biased, but I just have a feeling about this one. This team's showed too much resolve to go down 3-0.

i grabbed it at -110 last night, it is already up to -117 in the reduced section at 5dimes. Coburn sounds doubtful and the NHL won't want Crosby and the Pens having to play a longer series then Detroit, i actually think they both sweep at this point, Stanley Cup Finals start middle of next week

I really don't know if the regular season is a valid indicator, 69_. in both "blow out" games the losing team had injuries so I would think the current Flyer D injuries probably set them up for a loss tonight if games one and two are any indication.
that being said, IF the Flyers can bring some "crash the net" offense tonight like they did in the first periods in Pittsburgh and DON'T get caught with odd mans against, they MAY have a chance.
it's a no bet for me tonight even though I lean Penguins

You are trying to say that every year the NHL picks who they want in the Finals?

I guess you are right, the past few years are their dream matchups.
first of all the NHL doesn't pick anything, they have outcomes they would like to see and they will do what they can to get those outcomes. teams can still win even though the NHL may want the other team more but you will have to be a little bit better to beat them and secondly the NHL is always going to be happy with a Canadian team in the finals. As far as the previously stanley cup matchups, they are good ones for the league. Why would I say that well one of Buttmans main points on his agenda is league expansion and making hockey more popular in non-tradational hockey markets. Anaheim gets the first ever cup in california history, Buttman is happy, Carolina wins and the South gets another winner, Buttman is happy, Tampa Bay gets a winner and Buttman is happy. and ever single time he got a canadian team to go against them so he could scoop up the money in canada as well, so yes i do think those matchups made the league/Buttman happy

JESUS....Those results up top by 69-mets have me seriously reconsidering taking the penguins tonight...usually when a team consistantly loses at a certain venue it has a good chance of continuing.

Altho Amazin_Mets and I have slightly (slightly) differing political views, I have to admit tailin some when you were on that incredible roll a few weeks ago in Pucks. Indeed incredible.
I noticed you listed the stats, but not a pick. May have to check Lippsmans thread.
LeRinkRat....
I'm leanin Pens as well. Too much speed up front. Maybe a small play on puck-line for the empty netter that seals it.
