Two grinder teams when they get together, goals could be very hard to come by. This has the makings of a 7 game series, but I think the Avs come out on top. The PP is clicking very well, you can't beat the goaltending for the Avs.

I am playing Avs -245 for the series. Now you may say, but...but....but what about your -140 rule. That rule is for a single game where anything can happen. This is a wager over the course of at least 4 games, so much more time for things to even out, instead of a goaltender stealing one game.

If you like the Avs would it make sense to bet them on the -1.5 for the series and then hedge with the 4-3 exact outcome? I haven't looked at the math but sounds like it might be worth it.

Stars are not winning 3 games.. This will be 4-1.. Calgary is not that great of a team.. They eliminated an injury riddled Jets team that should have beaten them.. Stars got a green card into this series

Just too much of a chance on the exact outcome, although I did look at that. Ended up putting all the money on the Avs series win

Dallas beat a very bad Calgary team. As a Flame fan they have many issues. They don't have the weapons the Avs have. They Stars will see a different beast all together. Flames not coached as well as the Avs first off. The Avs have alot more depth. The Avs have so much talent up front. They have the best player left in the playoffs as well number 29. The Stars might win a game. This Avs team is going to the Western Conference Finals. Dallas has goaltending issues as well right now. U need a goaltender stealing a game or two. I just don't see that happening in this series. I really like this Avs team. Good luck on your bets but I am taking the Avs game 1 and the series.

Hard to not like Colorado right now, but should at least consider alternate perspectives... I'd argue each team is playing a better, more polished version of what they saw last round.
Key to me is Ben Bishop. If he plays & is his normal self Dallas has a good chance to win this series. I've never been a fan of Grubauer, think he is a liability when it comes to a grinding/physical series like this should be. Giving a team like Dallas, that struggles to score at times, cheap goals is a death wish.
Colorado looked phenomenal against an Arizona team that relies too much on sitting back & protecting Kuemper. Avs skill just blew that wall down.
Dallas beat up a crappy blue line & crappy goalie. Calgary has some high skill guys like Colorado does, but there is much more depth in Colorado. Have to remember Dallas had the champs & a red hot Binnington down 3-2 last year before losing the final 2 games. Then they added some serious leadership with Pavelski in the offseason, he's been awesome this post season. Lots of skill up front with Benn, Seguin, Radulov, Pavelski, Hintz, and the emergence of Gurianov. Then you have Miro Heiskanen running the D who's a straight up gazelle back there with the puck. You look at the Stars and immediately think defense/goaltending... but they've got some really nice pieces. Poured 50 shots on Talbot in regulation in game 4 I believe. They learn to do that and Bishop returns to form then they can beat anyone.
What I don't like out of Dallas is the talk. I question there motivation to keep going as the coach made comments about how crappy it is being in a bubble environment long term. On the otherside Mackinnon looks like a man on a mission who isn't stopping until a cup is over his head. Lean Avs, but if Bishop plays & the Stars aren't just going through the motions I think they're capable of winning a bunch of 2-1/3-2 games here vs the Avs.

In terms of series bet, I think best approach is wait after today’s result. Dallas can very well steal tonight’s game. Series price for Colorado would prob drop around -130

Good thread..I predict winner of Avs/LV Knights gonna b hoisting Lord Stanley.. COLORADO too much for Stars.. gonna b an entertaining series as Stars offense comes to life.. Bishop definitely key player of series..but don't see him shutting down Avs O...Enjoy..

This 3rd period is enormous for this series. I know it's only game 1 but what were the Stars pre-series like +265? They've controlled the tempo and play in this game whenever 29 is not on the ice for the Avs. Avs look like a one trick pony tonight (could still win this game for sure). Mackinnon is certainly working for everything he's getting out there & that will take a big toll over 7 games. Dallas can't afford to let a game like this get away from them though.... big 20 minutes coming. More so for the Stars imo.
Khudobin is awful. Grubauer going out might actually be a blessing in disguise as Francouz is the more capable goaltender. Hope it's not serious for Grubauer though, never like to see anyone hurt.
