It appears that Vegas flu applies to Vegas this year. How about those Swords. Thank you Dallas for killing everyone's PL play and allowing a goal with 15 seconds left, lack of effort. That second period in Boston was what I would like to see each time I watch a game. Ovi the Great? Really? Late gut said Preds but I laid off due to the numbers. Anyone able to watch that Isles/Avs game? I know some of the older hockey guys might like that kind of game but it is not for me.
Onto tonight. Some really good match-ups but we do have a Toilet Bowl Game: BJ's vs Flyers. Flyers are 5-3-2 the last 10 meetings but BJ's are 2-0 this year vs Flyers, both in Columbus AND both games went OVER. BJ's have won 4 of the past 5 meetings. Devils and Canes. Don't bet against a streak right? But just like last night, I am having this gut about Devils (I shouldn't). Canes are 6-4 the last 10 meetings, including 3-0 the last 3. The last 6 played in Raleigh, the Devils have won just ONCE. Might have to see if this gut feeling is just gas or what.
Hot Rangers travel to Pittsburgh. The Rangers are 7-2-1 the last 10 vs Pens, including bouncing them from the playoffs last year. In the last 10 games, 8 have been OVERS. Both teams are playing well, Rangers 8 W's in last 10 and Pens 7 W's in last 10. How about the Bolts going to Toronto. The Bolts are 6-4 last 10 vs Leafs, including 3-0 the last 3. Again, like Rag/Pens, 8 of the last 10 meetings have been OVERS. The last 4 played in Toronto have been split with each winning 2 apiece. 5, 4, 6, 4, and 5: the number of goals Tampa has scored in their last 5 games. Typical type of Leafs win night eh?
Pesky Sens and Jets. Teams are 5-5 last 10 but Sens have won 2 of the last 3. What is interesting is the visiting team has won the last 3. Past 6 meetings, O/U is 4-1-1. Don't look now, but the bi-polar Blues are on another winning streak. They have won 4 straight, including a Western Canada trip to Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver, impressive. Blues are 4-0 vs Sea Monsters and 3 of those 4 have been UNDERS.
Lame Ducks vs Kings. LA is 7-2-1 last 10 vs Ducks, including 3-0 last 3. Kings have scored 4 goals in 4 of the last 5 home games vs Ducks. Flames are right back in San Jose after Sunday night's trouncing. No Hertl for the Sharks and that is big. The O/U for these 2 in San Jose is 4-1-1 last 6 meetings but without Hertl, Sharks will be a little toothless with scoring.
Some AHL action as well tonight. Fill in the blanks. What do you want to talk about?

Doc my gut said NJ breaks out of their slump tonight against one of the league's best right now but your numbers say otherwise! Again, some really good total numbers to go by in your write-up.
Really excited to follow the 3 great games tonight and potential playoff type match ups.
We saw 4 games go to OT yesterday. I could another few going tonight minimally.

Canes have been in 4 straight 1 goal games. I think they put a lot into that win against the Pens. And yahoo sports claims the Devils are 8-1-1 vs the Hurricanes off a loss over their last 10 games. That's a hard stat to confirm. Gotta lean Devils to end their losing streak. Also, Canes in a 3 games in 4 night spot.
The Rangers are in a 3 games in 4 nights spot. Pens at home against the Rags have a nice advantage in the last 10. Rangers have been good of late but the Pens have had a tougher schedule in their last several games and still playing at a high level. Rags did beat up on Chicago and Philly in their last 2, neither games were close. A lean toward the Pens.

it's really hard to imagine the Kings losing to the Ducks so if you can find a "safe" (note the quotes) dance partner for a 2 teamer parlay...(even if in another sport)

Just a little AHL info. Utica plays at Cleveland tonight. Utica gets Akira Schmid back and while I don't have any news, I would suspect he will be in the starter's net and Cleveland just lost their leading scorer, Dunne, called up to Columbus. Guess where I might be looking.

Yeah, me and Katz saw that the other day. Guess the gig is up for now. Wranglers at home usually golden but Petterson and Ontario playing well right now. Should be a good one.

whoa. seeing -140 for the under 5.5 for pens/rags. makes sense in a way (despite the numbers Doc posted). there's been a lot more low scoring games, it feels. when the line has been at 5.5, they've been going under is a recent trend.

Just saying for you AHLers...Columbus just called up Cleveland's no. 1 goalie Greaves. So, Cleveland has lost no. 1 goalie and no. 1 scorer and Akira strong possible starter for Utica. hmmmmmmmm.

Pesky Sens tt is juicy but at 2.5. Sens have scored 3 or more in 4 of their six trips to Winnipeg, including their last two trips. Surprisingly, Rittich has only given up 3 goals or more in 4 of his 7 starts. Might be on my radar.

Abbotsford/San Jose. Straus Mann was recalled to San Jose and he's joining the team here in Abbotsford and should play tonight. Kid is such better than Makienemi and Dell but Abbotsford has been so good this season at home 8-3-0-1 also San Jose are in a 5 games trip and have a 3 game losing streak. I'm playing Abbotsford and if their losses tonight I will double tomorrow in B2B.
Wranglers/Ontario. Peterson has been hot in AHL but Wranglers always are complicated at home. Really my guts say Ontario but my pocket say no play.
Cleveland/Utica. Docs basically explained everything. Playing Utica I trust in Schmidt and also think if Daws start their will win.
Texas/Rockford. Texas at home in a 7th game winning straight. Texas has a better team overall, better goalies and better all. I'm not deep here just gonna play Texas.

Also adding: The Barracuda have given up the first goal in each of its last 12 games, going 5-7 during the stretch. The Cuda have allowed the first goal in 18 of its 27 contests this year and are 8-9-0-1 when doing so. San Jose is a -20 in the first period, only San Diego (-23) and Belleville (-25) are worse in the opening 20.
