Oh, where to begin? Let's start with congratulations. Flames - congrats on winning the Division. Panthers - congrats on having secure the #1 spot in the conference AND setting a new record for most goals scored in a season. Congrats to Owen Powers for scoring your first NHL goal (btw, if you would have signed and started the season with Buffalo, they would have been a #2 seed. I mean they are 4-1 since your arrival). Congrats to Stammer for being the all time points leader for Tampa. Congrats to the Kings (yeah, not official but..) returning to the playoffs. Congrats to DeSmith for standing on your head and prolonging the Pens life support. Congrats to the Blues and Wild for providing us with extended entertainment late into the season.
Now, let's flip the switch. In sports you can see it, feel it. The "IT"? Momentum/Attitude. Let's look at the Rangers coming out and making a statement early in New York where as the Canes come out and shit the bed in the first period. Sure the Canes won, but they, at this moment and not in several weeks, have IT. On the other hand, the Rangers do have IT. Dallas? Nope, you don't have IT. Vegas, forget about it, you don't have it. Toronto? You wished you had IT but that When you wish upon a Star. Speaking of Toronto, do you think Tampa wanted to send a little message last night? Not just meaning the arse whooping on the scoreboard. It looked like Tampa said, ok, it's going to be a physical series and you better get ready because we can be physical and score, oh and we still have Vas. Here is hoping Maroon takes Simmons to the wood shed. Thought his play last night was a little bush, especially when the game was out of hand. Actually, they must made the first round series exciting. Yeah, yeah, yeah, anything can happen in the playoffs, but why would you not put a mortgage bet on whoever is playing the Stars in the first round? (If they even make it). Come on, your current #1 goalie started in Jersey, went to Arizona and is now in Dallas. Speaking of Jersey, was that the same Hamburglar in net last night that beat the Knights? Did you see Buffalo's first goal? It was shot from outside the blue line.
Final thought. It is funny how you don't consider a game in early November as that meaningful, but at the end of the season, how many times does one or two points mean a whole hell of a lot.
Tonight - Only one game of meaning. Avs vs Oil. Why? Yep, they are both set with seeding but I think the Avs want that home ice just like the Panthers. Think about it. Florida vs Colorado in the finals, I would give the edge to the home ice team myself. PLUS the Avs were a little embarrassed by the Sea Monsters last game. Speaking of the Sea Monsters, they visit the Wild. The Wild played an intense game that required a huge 3P last night, do the Sea Monsters sneak another W? Oh, those Pesky Sens are back in action. Check BJ's line-up if you bet this game. Laine and Werenski are ???? Caps in the desert and 2 back from Pens.
What do you want to talk about?

The Avs are 8-2 L10 - L2. Those 2 losses were in the last 2 games. Both goalies are playing regularly, but the Avs only scored 2 in each of the losses (3-2 vs WAS, 3-2 @ SEA). They actually won 9 straight before these 2 losses. Mikko Rantanen will be a big loss if he's not back tonight. RW has 91 pts (36/55) and 35 PP pts. Can't replace those pts. He played vs WAS but missed the game @ SEA. Non-covid illness per rotowire. Game time decision, I guess. 26 and 27 SOG by the Avs in the 2 losses; don't know their team average, just seems low; prolly means nothing. Nobody hurting for the Oil Can right now. EDM 8-1-1 L10 - W3. Seem to be rolling.

Odd card in some ways but I do agree with the groupthink on a few picks for tonight (OTT, EDM). I do think there's potential for 1 big dog hit tonight but Seattle & Arizona are just terrible teams so you can't make a great case (Seattle is coming off 2 wins but stink on the road BUT are playing a team who is on a b2b and Arizona is riding a losing streak so it's hard to make a case for them). I do like one total a lot.

As much as Avs want to win, they are playing for health right now. Landeskog did not make road trip. Hopefully gets a game or 2 at home next week to knock some rust off before playoffs begin. They are sitting Toews until next week, did not make trip either. E. Johnson did not play Wed. and not looking likely for tonight. Rantanen did not play against Seattle and questionable tonight as well. Ryan Murray still out until playoffs. That is 5 major contributors getting some rest before the run begins to avoid injuries that have hampered them 2 out of the last 3 playoff years. Getting Kadri back last game was good, but he looked slow, rightfully so after 3 weeks off...
With Florida winning 12 in a row, almost like AVS are done trying to chase the presidents cup and focus on their real goal.
last 2 games between EDM/COL went OT and SO. Maybe Kuemper can steal one tonight.? I wont bet against my AVS, but looks like a good spot for EDM at +money (hopefully not... haha)

Great info. My gut says Edmonton uses this opportunity to beat up on Colorado while they can. Lets be real; Colorado is the better team in every way when healthy but they don't have everyone right now.
The only thing that gives me pause and a little worry is they were just beat by Seattle. The guys playing might be a little fired up.

Ottawa has been a popular pick on this board today. I noticed Ottawa's back up is in. After 3 straight losses, I could see CBJ bringing it tonight. The over is tempting despite the prior 2 match ups between these two going under. I'd lean CBJ. Anyone else?

Yeah Ott and Oil no brainers it appears. And that is usually when the opposite happens But I bet them anyway.
Not sure how much motivation to win Minny and STL have. They are locked in 2-3 spots, and might be wiser to limit stud ice time to avoid injury so close to Cup starting. who knows.
Caps TT was O3.5 at -175. Fuck no at that juice. Maybe parlay with Minn Reg...? Good luck all.

I am up for Saturday morning. CBJ led most all game then coughs it up as they do late and lose in SO to Gustavsson goalie for Sens.
Lotta faves today lotta juice too probably. Sometimes I do not look at the juice. Had Panthers -600 couple days ago. They won. Had TBay -466 this week and all my others had to hit and did to pay for Tbay juice v Redwings.
