I tried to tell saintsfan 4 weeks ago to not get too full of himself or his team because he'd eventually get his (Saints have warts just like almost every team was my point).
Eagles fans were all over the board last week saying the 2 seed was a gimme.
The NFL is a week to week league, my friends.
NFC is WIDE open my friends. Been saying it for about 6 weeks now.

It certainly helps, but MN has secondary issues and every team left can sling it when they want to. Also, you have some very good TE's left on teams and MN's safeties have sucked lately. But so far, they have been a different animal at home. It's certainly better then them having to play a wild card game at home next weekend with Dallas. Expect the worst...hope for the best. It's the only way I survive as a Viking fan.

I don't think any team that has lost their last 3 has made it to the SB. But I'm also not a huge trend guy. Trends can be reversed in a matter of minutes. Just ask AZ last year.
Just looking forward to entertaining and competitive games.

Agreed, they know it also.

You should be shocked if your team win their first playoff game. If you do win it, eventually you will go on the road and we all know what that means.

Yeah we know how the old Saints play, so hopefully they won't go back into that style of play. Jalen Rose and Derrick Brooks just stated if Vikings come to the Super Dome they are in trouble, and I agree. GB will beat them though, and Brett will retire

I think they have a little more relevance than a guy sitting on a fuckn computer on a farm in South Dakota my friend.
Both road teams have an excellent chance of winning next week fool, do me a favor stay off this site like Hutch and MDAAK did after the Monday Night loss.

Ap1bfreetorun and others in the thread: the Saints will be reading press clippings and watching ESPN alright, but everything out there right now is negative and will be very motivational for them.
The Saints also will be the healthiest they've been at any point in the last month and a half to two months. Some of their players that are now healthy and will return to action include: Jeremy Shockey te, Sedrick Ellis dt, Jabari Greer cb, Scott Fujita olb, Scott Shanle olb, Jamar Nesbit g, Usama Young fs, and probably Pierre Thomas rb and Lance Moore wr, as well. Also, the bye and the rest against Carolina will be great for Darren Sharper, who's been beat up for a while now, and Reggie Bush, who went out in the 2nd quarter of the Dallas game with an injury.
I'm not as concerned about the losses to the Cowboys and Bucs as some of you Vikings fans seem to be. Yes, Dallas played a great game and deserved to win that night against a Saints team that really embraced and desired the prospect of going undefeated. I had to take my hat off to Romo for a great performance and Demarcus Ware for suiting up and playing lights out after his scary injury (that had to be really inspirational for his teammates). However, the Saints did have several injuries, as noted above (as I know many NFL teams do this time of year), and I really feel that the main reason Dallas played so well was precisely because EVERYONE had written them off after years of disappointment, and they certainly didn't have to play under the stress of any expectations in that game. And, don't forget, the Saints did make that game VERY interesting after trailing 24-3 going into the 4th quarter.
And while I know it is unsettling anytime your team loses to a 2 win team, the Tampa game seemed to bet a letdown or hangover after the goal of an undefeated season had been lost. With that fact and a first round bye pretty much secured, I'm not sure the team was highly motivated to compete against a feisty Tampa squad playing hard for its coach in the midst of Bill Cowher rumors in this one. Do I think they should have been motivated, and do I wish they would have been motivated to play better? Yes on both counts, but they're hardly the first team in history to play down to the level of their competition in these circumstances. With that said I am very concerned that the playoffs could come down to a kicking situation, our kickers are horrible. I won't even discuss the Carolina loss as Brees and many starters were rested.
Keep in mind I'm not saying the Saints are unbeatable, or are the best team in history, or will definitely win the Superbowl. They need to get the injured starters referenced above back and reintegrated into the system. It will almost be like fielding a different team than we've seen in the last month and a half to two months, and I'm hoping everyone can focus effectively and get back on the same page. It will be difficult and may start off the game slowly due to this issue; however, I am very hopeful that these returning starters will greatly boost the overall level of play, both defensively and offensively. The Saints do have issues and I understand that they must improve their level of play greatly over that of the last several weeks in order to compete in the playoffs. No one will roll over for them, but they will not roll over and lay down for anyone either.
Just like ESPN, I firmly believe that many people have, as usual, severely overreacted to immediacy of the fact that the Saints have lost the last three games and, as a result of that, as well as the motivation that it provides, I hope to be able to find some value on my team at least for next week.
Every team in the playoffs, especially in the NFC, has issues, weaknesses and question marks. No one is invincible. However, unlike my Minnesota friends here I would be more concerned with my own team instead of my New Orleans Saints. The Vikings have looked far from impressive themselves in losing three out of their last five games, including being dominated and prison raped by both Arizona and Carolina, and making Jay Cutler look like an MVP without having a single NFL quality wide receiver on his roster. And sorry but I don't put much stock into the mailed in laydown yesterday by the listless Giants. That won't happen in the playoffs and, based on how I read the lay of the land, I don't see your Vikings winning a single playoff game. Good Luck All...
