Defense, Defense, Defense. SF got it. We all know what happens to high octane offense when they face a good D. They can't do anything. And with-in 7 minutes of the first quarter your just hoping your high octane team can get a first down let alone a TD. We've all been there but don't learn from it. Good pass rush changes everything the QB trys to do. But Green bays defense is healthy. Right. Thats great, but it doesnt mean there good. SF is motivated even more after last years loss at home vs. the Giants. Young hungry team. If they can dismantle NE at NE what are they gonna do to GB rested and at home? (yes NE came back but thats because SF lost its intensity and didnt play for 60 minutes) Human nature when your up by 4 TDs.
Look for a 21-6 ish SF lead at the half.
34-20 final just because GB maybe scores a garbage TD late. This game can be a few T.O.s away from 45-10 SF final. This line should be -9 SF.

Yikes!!!
Created an alias to post this, nice!!
GB d ranks in the top 10, they cant be that bad!!
SF played 9 of 16 games against offenses that rank 16 or below.
Check out the stats against Gb, Minn, Det, No, Sea, NE and NY....27 points per game allowed!!!
1st round byes in the NFL have not led to a good win%, nor to Qbs making their 1st start....
I guess its just me, but with how much more "dominant" you and everybody claim SF is.....shouldnt they be giving alot more than the 3 points given for home field???? Weird???

Stats are so misleading. Green bay is top 10 in total yards allowed. So what. Whats GB in allowing points scored. I mean they had 5 games where there D gave up 27 or more points. So they give up 250 total yard but allow 27 points. Which is better? Green bay is healthy but it takes time for players to gel together on Defense or Offense. All it takes is one or two mistakes in the secondary and game over. Receivers are healthy but all it takes is one or two routes run wrong and SF picks off the ball. Im not a hater and Green Bay is a good team. They will be motivated to win. But the hunger and intensity and emotion by SF I think will be on another level.

Look up your stats before you post them....
GB is top 10 in points allowed....and until the last game of the year when Ponder had his best CAREER game as a starter they were #6 in points allowed

Misleading. Green bay allowed 9 games of over 20 points. But they are 6th in points allowed? What does that mean? They have a great Defense? They give up 21.0 a game the next team ranked 7th Giants 21.5 then Rams 21.8 then Minn 21.8 and Arizona 22. Numbers are so irrelevant. Your basing Green bays points allowed by decimal points.
Its not like the are ranked 6th in total points allowed at 21 and the next team ranked 7th allows 30. Then i would say I agree with you.

I attempted to point out to you how using stats to analyze a game is useless. In fact its that is what books want squares to look at. Thats why its so readily available to the public and there is so many categories. Your throwing out numbers that are meaningless. My assessment on San Frans defense is a product of watching the defensive line in a game situation as well as linebackers/secondary. Noting intensity that is brought and disruption of a play, aggressiveness and emotion. Not looking up numbers that have no true transfer meaning from game to game. It comes down is to scheming and execution. PERIOD. SF knows what GB is gonna try to do and GB knows what SF is gonna try to do. The question is who will be more successful at stopping the other. Based on observation of both teams in action and betting for many years you get a feel. We have all seen great QBs made to look bad. If Rogers doesnt have time to pass the ball it might as well be me QB for Green Bay.

But you still dont make any sense. You say you make your play based on what you see.
Yet, do you watch all the games???
When SF has played an offense(Ne, Sea, NO, Ny) very similar in skill and ability, they allow almost 28 points a game.
I mean just because they dominate terrible offenses and run first teams, look what happens when they play teams the throw the rock. They dont do well.
Best of luck, but people who are claiming SF has this great D, needs to look at the actual results. Against 9 bottom 16 teams or worse they are great, but against the top 15, in 7 games its almost 27 points per game

I seriously doubt that, in the NFL playoffs, anyone on any team lacks motivation to win in the playoffs. This is the SOLE PURPOSE of your entire season - to make the playoffs and win the Super Bowl. If you're not motivated to be playing now, you might as well go play golf.

SF was up 4 TDs against NE They dominated a great offense. However Intensity dropped off they gave up alot of points to a great offense. Human Nature to ease up when the game appears to be in hand. Got to play 60 minutes. They then flew west played Seattle who after the game SF players admitted they were tired and emotionally drained from the NE game the week before. They confessed they lacked intensity. They gave up 21 at NO who has a great offense. Not bad for any defense to hold them to 21 at home. Stats are misleading.
Everyone is motivated however there are different levels of intensity. Motivation is different for teams that have been there before, have won before or are new or have lost before. The packers won a superbowl already. Alot of guys on that team got there ring. Yes they are gonna play hard, but are they gonna leave it all on the field go the extra mile, hit extra hard etc. I.E. NYG players admitted last month that players who already won the superbowl and got there ring just didnt seem motivated or had any sense of urgency to win as the season ended.(meanwhile giant fans at home did) These are human beings with families, friends, issues, problems, things they want to do after football. season etc. Football isnt there sole purpose for life although this is how we the fans talk about them.

There is also a difference in giving up points when your ahead as apposed to giving them up from behind. If NE was winning 31-17 I would agree and say your right the SF D was exposed. But the fact is they had the game well in hand and were up 4 tds. At that point you play a soft D. They learned the hard way you can't do that against the Pats. Once you turn intensity off you cant turn it back on at the same level. You cant.
