I've had a terrible last two weeks. Really out thinking myself and it's time to get back to basics with situational betting (aka buying low and selling high).
NY Jets -3.5
Speaking of buying low and selling high, what is this? I respect what the Lions have done as much as anyone as they've battled every game and played hard but this line is off and a big overreaction.
The Lions are an improving team but the Jets are a Super Bowl contender that was just shutout at home. There is no way that is going to sit well with anyone on a team filled with veterans this week. It will be a sour week at Jets camp as I'm sure everyone will be pissed off and looking forward to coming out and atoning for that total embarrassment at home against the Packers. I'm sure the Jets will hear plenty about how Sanchez and the offense stinks and how the Pats are looking good again. Seems like a similar situation as Week 2 when the Jets offense was coming off a stinker, all they did was come out and move it up and down the field against a bad defense and that is what the Lions have. Their front 4 is improved but they should be handled by the best offensive line in football while the bad back 7 gets picked apart. There is a large difference in how good these defenses are and we should see it on the field Sunday.
I expect the Jets to come out fired up looking for a win before the Pats pull away in the division and kick an improving team in the teeth that has been good but won't be good enough to hang around if the Jets play the way I expect them to. I don't think the Lions will be fooling anybody anymore. They are still 2-5 but I think there will be a lot of talk this week about how good they are and how fast they are improving, bettors may not agree but the media will talk about them.
