What did they set this line high? Is the line +10.5 or something higher that is trying to lure in Jets money? Are you saying with a line of +8 or +9 the majority of bettors and money are going to be taking those points with the Jets? No way! I believe books/bookies will lose money if Dallas wins the 1st Half. So your disagreement and reasoning make no sense.

jlb442, I've been checking the Dallas Morning News everyday for any articles mentioning the Cowboys' slow starts, but so far, I haven't found one (I missed Tuesday's edition). If you or anyone can point me towards any article or link in which this topic is discussed, I definetely won't ignore that kind of information. The coaching staff is aware, I'm sure, but are they doing anything about it? Will the team be motivated to correct this problem today against a team they know they can handle even with just their usual 30 minutes of stellar football? Maybe if they struggle a bit today with the Jets in the first half, there'll finally be a real emphasis placed on starting out a game better, especially with the Packers up next.
I know Vegas researches well, but they have to set the lines in part by our perception of these teams, and outside of close Cowboys watchers, who among us knew off the top of his head that the Cowboys have gone 2-7-1 ATS against the 1st half line this season? Or that the Cowboys have been trailing at the half in three of their home games? Or that they've been outscored 68-62 in the 1st half at home? Most people just accept that Dallas is great and don't realize just how poorly they've played in the first half of games. That's why I think I've got an inflated line here. If it's true that Dallas has finally gotten fed up with its own slow starts, then I'm probably toast, but I expect that adjustment to come next Thursday against Green Bay.

Yes, plus 8 is still okay.
