I think the Giants are the best bet of the weekend. The Eagles are
getting a lot of love for beating a Cowboys team that had already
self-destructed and curled in the fetal position, and beating the
Vikings isn't anything to really write home about.
Granted this is a rivalry game and these two teams knowing each other
as well as they do evens things out a bit. However, the key to the
Giants is Brandon Jacobs and he will be healthy for the first time in a
while. Even against the Panthers he was not 100% and he was the
difference. I know Ward got all those yards, but neither Ward nor
Bradshaw are as effective as when Jacobs plays.
Lets not forget that the Eagles scored 3 points against a Redskins team
that also had all but quit on the season. To ask the Eagles to win 3
in a row, when they haven't put three good weeks together all year is
asking a bit much.
And for all those that want to draw comparisons to this year's Eagles
and last year's Giants, that is a mistake. For starters, the Giants
actually were playing good at the end of the year, while the Eagles
seem to be playing good. The Giants also had more weapons on offense
to go to. The Eagles have one.
The fact that Philly won earlier this year in the Meadowlands only strengthens my belief that the Giants will win and cover.

I think the Giants may win but the Eagles are the hungrier team. Leaders like McNabb, Westbrook and Dawkins can smell the super bowl! I believe they will win the game straight up and if nothing else cover the number!

Philly Offense should be very hungry after producing ONE offensive TD the last two weeks. A large 67 yds rushing Sun. Gotta go NY -4. Philly-3 big games in a row.btb road. covered last 3-return to norm.

The Giants are clearly the better team of the 2 no question. While the Eagles were struggling against a Redskins team just to get into the playoffs. the Giants were battling the #2 seed in the NFC for home field through out the playoffs. By no means are the Eagles the hungrier team coming into this game. I smell a big Giant victory and that is were all my money is going this weekend

Gold Rush, agreed that there is a lot of Philly love, but I believe the love is misplaced and overstated. When the lights go on it will be revealed that the Eagles are not nearly as attractive as people believe they are.

Agree. I liked the Eagles ... until they almost lost to Tavaris Jackson. Yikes.
I think the Giants are the hungrier team. The OT win over Carolina shows that.
For those who like the Eagles +4 in this one, I'm curious if you would bet similar dollars if it were Eagles +2.5?
if it were 2.5, then i would prob like the eagles b/c the books would be inviting so much pub money on the g-men, while expecting philly to win or cover...2.5 at home is usually a trap line, so you would take philly while siding with the books...but since it's 4, i will prob lay off

there might be a lot of philly love, but there's obv a lot more giants love....check out the logans #s, and you'll notice the biggest public bet of the 4 games is on the g-men....the other 3 games are pretty much 50/50 right now, but nyg is 60/40...but it's not a huge disparity

I will be on the Gmen.... although the Eagles look and are playing like the Gmen of last year. I think if the Gmen key all over Westbrook, I dont think McNabb is going to beat them, it must be Westbrook.. Too many drop back to passes for McNabb leads to Sacks which the Gmen always get to him, pics, fumbles... Gmen take this one... 27-14.

too many drop back passes and the g-men always get to him? how about 0 sacks in both games this yr...nice try....the philly o-line dominated the nyg d-line in both games

You can throw out that 2nd game where the Eagles won @ Gmen.. BTW Westbrook was the reason they won that game.... Look at the games where Westbrook wasnt a factor, that was my point. I believe they sacked him 15x last year... Eagles offense hasnt changed that much... Strahan and Osi combined for 8 out of the 15 sacks.... that means 7 sacks were handled by other Gmen... They will get to McNabb if Westbrook is not that much of a factor that was my point.. The history not just this year.

I'm pretty sure that T.C. is gonna have this team ready to play this weeekend. As i do agree that the giants have 0 sacks against Philly in 2 games this year, the eagles only have 1 against the Giants. Here are a few points that i believe are in the Giants favor.
1. Special teams. The Giants have one of the best punters the league has ever seen in Jeff Feagles. The guy is constantly pinning teams inside the 20, 10, and 5. A punter that knows the winds of Giants stadium will be a big advantage when it comes to the field position battle. Also at kicker David Akers is terrible at Giant stadium.
2. The running game. The giants have a far more superior run game than the Eagles. If anyone thinks for one minute that the Eagles will stop a healthy Earth wind and fire then they are delusional.
These are 2 critical points to me that push my pick in favor of the Giants.

"throw out the 2nd game this yr" but count the games where strahan and osi played in 07? that doesn't make any sense....as far as your point about 7 sacks being from other giants, maybe it was b/c strahan and osi garnered so much attention?...why history? the teams were very different in 07....philly actually has both tackles healthy this yr, unlike last yr....andrews is still out, but philly has been doing fine without him, and that's besides the point....fact is, when i posted that, you had no idea, and then took the time to go back and check, and realized, "wow, i had no idea the g-men had 0 sacks against this team this yr"....so then you had to resort to 07 stats when both units were very different....grasping at straws is a fun game

and your point about stopping westy is the key....well of course it is, but they stopped westy in the first game, and philly still scored 31 on them and allowed 0 sacks....and you used the word "always", which is not the truth...so just accept the fact that you were wrong on that point, and realize that this yr, the advantage went to phi o-line over nyg d-line...that is a fact

I like the Giants, but no Plaxico is huge. Without anyone to stretch the field, the Eagles will pretty much be able to sit tight on everything.
The Giants have a great running game, but a predictable running game is useless in the playoffs. Play calling will need to be abolutely on point for the Giants.
Again, Plaxico was amazing during last year's run, picking up big first downs, posing a deep threat - being the one guy Eli does not have to throw a perfect pass to.
