I guess he said this a few weeks ago but he reiterated it today and all I have to say is get fukn real
I'm a Steph fan, and an MJ fan but I don't even understand how he could think this
His premise was Stephs ballhandling skills could get him open 3s and Jordan couldn't deal with it. I agree Steph is a better ballhandler and shooter than MJ but the thing I keep saying is what in the world would/could Steph do on defense against MJ other than just get completely overpowered on every single possession. MJ could just back him down to 4 feet from the basket every single time, or just face him up and drive right by him every single time.
I'm not here for an argument, just curious really if anyone actually agrees with cowherd on this, and why. Also, spare me the comments of how horrible cowherd is, like it or not he knows more about sports then 99% of us here. I'm not even a huge cowherd guy I'm just a realist

He can't even stop Kyrie Irving, how's he gonna stop MJ. He's also had what 1-2 great games in his 11 finals games. Please, Steph's not even the best all around player on his own team. Klay is showing he's more valuable.

So far I'm the only one who provided a response that is both accurate and unemotional...
Also I disagree that Colin Cowherd knows more about sports than 99% of people... maybe on this forum, yea, because it's a bunch of gambling addicts, but Cowherd is more a sensationalist sports analyst... he has his job because he stirs up controversy, and yes, he knows a little bit about almost every sport known to man... but his actual level of sports expertise regarding most sports is nothing spectacular...

After all these years....and people still suckin Jordan's cock?
Steph is the best....never seen anybody put the ball in the basket with such ease as he does...
That being said, I think steph would get the best of Jordan as well. Why not? It's about getting the ball in the basket. I watched curry defend LEBRON the other day 1 on 1, forcing him to give up the basketball....even got a remark from the commentator who said "You're one on one with curry, you gotta get to the rim and dunk that" but the fact was LeBron couldn't get past curry.
Curry is an excellent all around player. I don't know how others don't see it?

Theres a great difference between being a better player and then doing well 1-on-1. Stephen Curry would win against MJ yeah, hes better athletically, better shot, more clutch, and better handles. MJ got more size thats about what hes got on Curry.
James Harden is the best 1-on-1 player in the NBA, but it DOES NOT mean hes the best player. Its two completely different things.

Mgm, I like ya and we see eye to eye on a lot but this is where I disagree. If it's make and take it, Jordan wins. If it's alternating, and it's up to 11, MJ wins 11-6. I wonder what the spread would be at Vegas in this game?! My bet is that it would be MJ -3.5 only becuase steph can hit 3s.

I guess you are talking about 40 year old Michael Jordan on the Wizards... or maybe you are talking about right now... because otherwise, this is b@t$hit crazy even by your standards!

Only if curry could hit ALL of his threes and assuming MJ just went for 2's and dunked on him if they played to 21 win by two. idk this is a ridiculous statement to stir the pot. cowherd says dumb garbage all the time, i remember he asked bill burr how long his prime would last and hes a comedian.... dude is dumb and looks like a weasel

Many players who never made the NBA can beat NBA players 1 on 1.I find the topic irrelevent. The talk show hosts have to fill up space on their daily shows.

Agreed. And I've never seen anyone with the ability to draw a foul like harden can. They got a few freaks in this league today.

But curry can hit the 3 whenever he wants. He made 77 in a row during practice. And it seems to me as if nobody can defend him.

You could very well be right. The way I cap games in sports is with a pattern system, as well as other factors I use. But capping player matchups is one thing I don't do. So, this would be my area of weakness. I don't have a high basketball IQ in other words. I just see the little things I guess that most normal people don't notice.
But anytime I mention anyone being better than Jordan people get very angry with me. Not sure why everyone loves the guy so much. I watched his best game ever where he put in 69 and it didn't appear to be anything super special to me. I liked Kobe's 81 game better
But that's just me. Maybe something about Jordan I am missing, he just seemed somewhat of an akward players sometimes.
On the flip side, I watched him hit his first home run LIVE at ed smith stadium, so I saw history being made. God I wish I had video taped that, as you cant find it anywhere online. I checked on youtube. Maybe its there now though I'll check again.
I remember some other guy was there video taping it....
Funny at the same stadium, we took a field trip to in elementary school (This was before Jordan hit his homer) and someone hit a foul ball and I turned around to catch it, it hit the wall and came straight back and hit me right smack in the eye....knocked me right out. Woke up as they were carrying me out of the stadium, saw some classmates looking worried about me. Lol
I was only 10 years old then and for years after that, one of my pupils in my eye was bigger than the other. Lucky I didn't go blind or do any serious damage. From what I remember I had a minor concussion. It definitely hurt a lot worse than getting punched in the eye.

The notion that Curry can beat MJ 1 on 1 is absurd, and I am not even a huge MJ fan. Curry has neither the athletic ability nor strength to compete with MJ. People tend to forget that MJ was voted to multiple All-NBA defensive teams. Even if MJ is not allowed to back Curry down, he still win by just driving to the basket. Curry has a hard time getting off contested shots in the playoffs again so-so defender. He can get off shots by screen or isolated against big man. Against MJ with no screen. Lord helps him... and I am a Warriors fan.

But I loved currys defense aganst LeBron where he forced LeBron to give up the ball on his way to the rim
I don't think that was part of the act because commentator mentioned it. He didn't credit curry for his excellent defense, he made it sound like LeBron was trying to get an assist. LOL
So I guess the league doesn't want us to know how good of a defender curry is.
They don't want the public perception to be all over curry and not james (Exactly why james will get his ring too this year)
I mean this is just obvious to me. Nobody told me any of this stuff
