After shutting the door on the Reds, they're 30-19 since June.
This club is 2 good starters away from competing(if not dominating) the AL East. Bradish is the only real dumpster fire in that rotation. He's gotta be replaced. Even Jordan Lyles has managed a 7-8 record. They could probably live with him at #5.
Super fun club to watch imo. They play ball in an old fashioned kinda way. They definitely could use improvement in plate discipline, increase walks and decrease strikeouts. They're still young and that could improve with time.
Fwiw, they're 6th in stolen bases, 2nd in getting hit by pitches, 4th highest line drive %, 5th in doubles, #2 in extra bases taken %. They've grounded into a double play the 6th least amount. They are doing the small things well, a sign of good managing.
Their 5 main bullpen arms are Bautista, Perez, Krehbiel, Tate and Aiken. For a combined 1.98 era.
There's a lot to look forward to for fans, as long as injuries don't strike or any other unforseen derailments.
One thing I can forsee, is a spike in carpet sales in Baltimore.

Wait til next year when Grayson Rodriguez gets the call up and John Means is healthy. Tyler Wells should have the innings limit shackles off by then too. Future looks bright for this young, scrappy team. Love to see teams find success through drafting, farm system, and player development.

I just wish they would stop playing from behind That will bite them in the ass against better teams I am ecstatic that they have been playing.500 or better ball this season

Would make a hell of a good story if they could somehow make the postseason, especially with that $32million payroll (active players). They only have 4 guys on the active roster making over $1M
Still paying Chris Davis about $5M
As I was just looking this all up, I couldn't help but smile when I saw they are still paying Bobby Bonilla $500k per year until he is 59. I thought he just deferred the Mets money,,,,,,,apparently not. Legendary financier Bobby Bonilla.

Last I heard is that Grayson Rodriquez had a lat strain down in AAA, and it's a bad one. His arrival will be delayed. Supposed to be a great prospect from what I read. He kept smoking hitters on all levels of A ball.

180 degree turnaround. Consider this was the worst pitching team in the AL last season, team ERA approaching 6. This team is reminiscent of Rays teams in the past. Happy for them, if Tampa can't find their way into the playoffs, and it ain't looking good right now, I'll be a bandwagon O's fan. I'm on them today vs Cincy too. Nice write-up Sac

Yes he did have a grade 2 last strain in early June. Good news is that his latest MRI results came back clean. I think they may just shut him down for the season anyway, no reason to risk it since he won’t be a factor in the playoff push this year. I got him in a redraft fantasy baseball league in hopes that he’d get a midseason or at least September call up. Struck out on that one. O’s will likely call him up may or June of next season to manipulate service time, like they did with Rutschman this year.
Grayson is as polished and developed as a pitching prospect can be. He has a fully ready arsenal, 70-fastball, 70-changeup, 60-slider and he’s working on a curve. The mentality and attitude are all a plus from what I’ve read. The o’s know this guy is MLB-ready. I strongly believe this guy can be top level ace superstar if he reaches his full potential. Baltimore has themselves a gem.

Good bye Jorge Lopez...one of the best under the radar closers around. Huge ground ball producer.
I'm starting to think the O's organization is out thinking themselves. Selling off some dudes that are young for even younger prospects that "might be" good one day.

Flooring sales are booming ....Minor leagues are a gold mine... Bautista is a monster.....the next closer..but Lopez was only 29.... Soon they will be a major force even in the AL East...

Still scratching my head as to why they traded away Mancini and Jorge Lopez.
Is this team not a legitimate wild card team? And with the steam that they are playing with, have/had an "upset" vibe to them.
5 of the 6 pitchers they aquired through the trades haven't pitched above single A. One of those pitchers(Seth Johnson) just had Tommy John. So it's not like any of these dudes are ready for next year.
Mancini is a beast. Why not pay him next year when your pay roll is so low? Lopez is 29, not young anymore, but not quite old yet.
They have plenty of prospects in the minors who are doing well right now, and a couple maybe 3 would be ready by next year at some point.
Did they really need prospects for 2 to 4 years down the road? Haven't they been grooming guys for years n years up until this point?
Good Luck O's fans, I hope they keep doing well. It's good for baseball.

Meh. bullpens come and go. Bullpen arms are hot and cold. I stopped reading after “if not dominating” Al east. Fun team though no doubt.
Glad that you stopped reading, I made the thread 9 days ago. And if you aren't looking ahead in sports wagering, you'll never get ahead of the books lines.

The Orioles up until this point have been the best bet in MLB.
At 68-61, they are +$2782 if you were to blind bet em $100 every game.
No other team in the AL East is plus money.
Yankees -$442
Rays -$241
Jays -$883
Red Sox -$932
Shout out to Kyle Bradish. He shut out the Guardians through 7 tonight, after shutting out the Astros through 8 in his last start.
I've been watching his starts, the kid has some nasty stuff. Don't let the overall era fool you, he was pitching hurt from May 16 to June 18 in 7 starts. Tough kid, and a rookie to boot.
