1-3, -14 UnitsThursday
brings the week to 13-13-1, +7.3units.
Weekend is here. Usually profitable.
5 & 9 Inning
Plays Today
Blue Jays +100, -104, (Hellickson / Morrow)
I have a lot of respect for
Morrow and my numbers say I should. Neither offense in prime form.
Pirates +115, +118, (Karstens / Rogers)
When the Pirates got Wandy
guys were arguing who was in and out of the rotation. I said Karstens would
stick and he did. Undervalued.
Dodgers -115, -106, (Cahill / Harang)
One of these days the Dodgers
are going to get some production for all the money they have spent. I think it
is today. I am not high on Cahill and getting shut out by Kennedy should get
their attention, or maybe Magic will get in the clubhouse and physically kick
some ass.
9 Innings only
Rays-Blue Jays Under 8, +102, (Hellickson /
Morrow)
Like I said, a ton of respect
for Morrow, but Hellickson deserves it too. Neither offense does.
5 Innings only
Red Sox-A’s Over 3.5, -120, (Cook / McCarthy)
Undervalued offense, by the A’s,
not the BoSox. The big -170 on the A’s is not just Cook/McCarthy.

Good luck and great 2nd half! Have to serve you some crow though buddy! Tomorrow is Sept 1st and you made this statement back on 6/30.
"The Orioles offense has
abandoned them and Jake Arrieta will probably be the next pitcher to free fall.
This could get ugly in a hurry and the O’s will make third place in the
standings by the All Star break and fifth by September 1. The fun is
over."
This is a huge week for the O's. It will define their season one or another!

OK, point taken, but I hope that is not the highlight of your season on Covers. The offense revived a little, the bullpen has been phenomenal, and the BoSox and Blue Jays have collapsed. We will see what the winter brings but if they don't improve the rotation next year will be a season of regression, and you can put that in your notebook too.

I really don't look for highlights on Covers, but you're right they need to improve their rotation and defense. Saunders was a huge mistake and they need to cut Reynold loose. Good luck the rest of the way.

Good looking card tonight, I also thought Balt.would drop out as well as Pitt.,lot had to do with the divisions they play in,but they have hung in there,Pitt.only chance is the wild card as Cinn.has just ran away from everyone, passed up every team for most wins,we will see if Pitt.has what it takes last month. Balt.has hung in there as that division is not the best anymore, but their relief pitching has to be as good as anyone in #s,they seem solid and I dont expect them to fall apart now,but the games get very tuff from here on out,so good luck to them.

JEG, basically agree with you but I think I see a problem down the road for the Reds. Remember the Mariners team that won 117 or 118 games a few years ago, then got bounced out of the playoffs in the first series? This Reds team may be like that one, built for the regular season, but no real legitimate top gun other than Cueto and that doesn't get you through the playoffs. It will be interesting to see. Pirates have made a lot of progress this year but the stretch drive is going to be a real grinder for a young team and they may have to say "wait til next year!" Another comer is the Royals. I wonder how many people are aware they have played 50-50 ball since April 24th? Most folks make their opinions based on last year, spring training, and April. They never catch on to the teams that nipped their problems in the bud and have played pretty darn good ball for the last four months. FFT.

If the Royals can get some starting pitching help they will be solid next year........offense needs to improve but it probably should with all these kids getting a year older. Myers figures to be up and will certainly be an offensive upgrade over Francouer.....defensively KC is very sound with future gold glovers at 1st, SS, 3rd, Catcher, LF and possibly CF.....bullpen is great. Homer-ism aside this is a team that could be very competitive as soon as next year.
