Angels: There is
little money to be made on 1’s and 2’s because they are almost never under valued,
whereas a really good #3 like Richards often flies under the radar and presents good value when faced with an
over valued team. Bettors fell in love with the Nationals when they moved to
D.C., drafted Strasburg, then Harper, blah, blah, blah, but exactly what have
they ever proven? So far, in the 5 inning game versus righty they are 4-10-1
with an oera of just 1.88. lest someone misunderstand oera (offensive earned
run average) is just like a pitcher’s era, it is per 9 innings.
Phillies: The
single biggest pitching mismatch of the day and the kind of spot Cliff Lee
relishes. If you don’t start with the pitching and insist on having it on your
side the rest of the handicap is worthless. Lee has earned a 72.5 in my ratings
versus Maholm at 56. That alone is worth roughly -110 for a line of Lee -210
before you grant the Dodgers what they have going for them. Home field,
offense, etc., are certainly worth something, but they don’t cover 110 pints in
pitching value.

No reason for me to make a post today as Uncle Cliffie is my only play today and I was reasonably certain you would be on him as well. Best of luck tonight.

Key, excellent idea of showing RoR instead of units. I started using RoR last year because as you state, units are meaningless.
Thanks for all the hard work and great write ups. I plan on making a contribution from my winnings on your picks to one of my favorite charities, the Crisis Nursery in Phoenix. I used to live in Phoenix for 16 years and still support that worthy organization that helps kids.
