***MLB FRIDAY*** NYY -120 After watching the Yankees all season get dominated by the Sox, nostalgia kicked in last night. +180? With future HOF'er Smoltz? Really? Granted, Jason Bay was out, but still...rivalry game...should be close, no? Luckily, I took the Yankees RL bc a friend of mine slapped me into reality. Tonight, I like the Yanks again, mostly because of the "6th man" type which will be the fans. Beckett was on the mound when the Yanks lost to the Marlins in the W.S. a number of years back. Yankee fans have not forgiven or forgotten about that, and tonight...tonight the bats continue bursting the baseball's seams, and A.J. pitches a gem against the Sox in what should be an outstanding, adrenaline-filled Stadium. Padres -140 After watching Clayton Richard destroy my Tigers bet on the ESPN game a couple of games ago, I knew he was going to be something special. 8 outstanding innings nearly made me forget about my wager, and I truly enjoyed watching him pitch. He's a great fit in S.D. and provided me with a winner last night. The Mets on the other hand, have had some of the worst luck I've ever seen. From Castillo falling down the dugout steps, to the whole team in essence, being on the DL forever. They are breaking down, both emotionally and physically. Wright can not carry this team forever, especially on the west coast tonight. Correia is not that bad, and Oliver Perez reminds me of the Yankees um..."experiment" with Pavano crossed with Chuck Knoblauch in terms of his mental well-being on the mound. Gas can has never been more of an understatement with this guy. Lowe would have been SO SO much better for the Mets. Instead, Minaya turns into Isiah Thomas and makes another extremely abysmal move. Good grief. Arizona EV Jon Garland has had an up and down career. From the White Sox, and being a part of a great rotation, to the DBacks and having no run support, Garland has been somewhat of an anomaly. I've backed him, and watched him throw 50+ pitches in 1 1/3 innings, with back-to-back-to-back-to-back walks...and I've seen him shut out teams completely like he did recently. The DBacks have been playing great baseball recently. Petit nearly had a no hitter his last time out! This all should continue tonight. KC -130 Royals laying chalk?! At home though...and a tired team coming into play them...where they've been rather solid. Would you want to be playing in front of 4,592 fans on a Friday night? No? Well...the Royals are used to it, and Bannister ain't too shabby. KC takes it 5-2. Colorado -140 Estes special. What can I say? Gotta love it. Angels/Rangers Ov. 9.5 En fuego. Both teams bats. Will go with a trend than against one every time. Angels win 11-6. |
