After Ron resigned today I think most of us think he's on cocaine again. I saw one poster say his wife his and who knows maybe that's it too. It really doesn't matter to me which it is but I will always respect Ron for one thing he said years ago.
It was right after Hurricane Katrina, Ron was still with the A's I believe and his home and his family were in New Orleans. He was doing a press conference and the reporters were being very sympathetic towards him and asking him what he's been thru the last week or so since the hurricane and he said this,
"First off I wanna say this is not going to be a Ron Washington pity party. I make $800,000/yr, all my family got out in time and we've already bought ourselves a new home in Houston. Every single thing I lost I will just go out and buy a new one. This has just been a big "inconvenience" for myself and my family. There are families out there whose lives are altered or ruined forever. If you wanna talk about any of those families I'll stand up here all night with you, but I refuse to let this conversation be about me and my family, we're just not the ones anyone should be focusing on during this disaster, we're fine."
That type of humility and honesty you just don't see in today's world from wealthy people. If the Kardashidumbs had lived in Nawlins they'd have a TV special about their "daily struggles since Katrina." Ron told it like it is and I'll ALWAYS respect him for that, even if he snorted a line 5 min after saying that

I have no idea what his deal is, I just think given his history that's the first thing most people will assume. Like I said, another guy here said its something about his wife being sick and maybe so but initially I think most people think cocaine.
You do know he already got busted and almost fired a few years ago for cocaine use right? I'm not saying that's what it is here but it'd hardly be a surprise

He probably resigned because the Rangers SUCK! If he continues to stick with them it may set off his triggers which then in turn would create a relapse.

Wonder if he's ever posted a fake ticket on an internet messageboard
