3. (I Loved it). But, I am sick and tired of bouncing up and down over and under
the profit level. Been there, done that, and it ain’t pretty.

I can hardly wait for some
joker to tell me why I should soil my diaper at the thought of backing Joe
Saunders against Pujols, Trout, Trumbo and Morales, the same great quartet that
couldn’t put up a single run on Trevor Cahill and two relievers last night. Three
hits and two walks is not really impressive but I guess I should fear the names
on the shirts or home field advantage. Frankly, I think those fellas should
fear sending Ervin Santana out there with the ball, but that’s just my opinion.

One losing major league start
with unimpressive stats and we got a “stopper” on our hands? Wow. There is no
reason to believe that. The line is supported only by perception of team quality
and home field advantage, which the public will support from here to Doomsday
whether the evidence is there or not. The Cardinals started the season en fuego
versus lefty but since then have gone 2-6, allowing those 8 lefties to go 6.92
innings per start and surrender only 1.3 earned runs. That might be seen as
water seeking its own level, or what goes around comes around, but either way the
Cardinals are not the team they were in April. That amounts to an offensive era
of just 1.63 per 9 innings. I hope Cardinal backers are still relying on full
season to date stats to assess the Cardinals. I like to be fair about these things
so if we look at the Royals last 8 versus righty we get results of 3-5, but
they have won 3 straight and compiled a 3.42 offensive era over the last 8.
False favorite, take the odds.

Love the Royals today, also. Their pitchers have a 2.89 ERA in the last 15 games, 3rd best in the MLB. Since May 8, ERA is 3.24, 2nd in AL and 4th in MLB.

Ah ha! A true Homie checks in. Love the Royals from here on out, the public almost never reassess its early opinion.
