Well, it's only January and I've got a big hole to dig out of.. that
Anthony Johnson loss has been driving me crazy all week. If he had
planned that weight cut better and hadn't gassed in 2 minutes, he would have beat the shit out of Vitor. What an idiot.
Anyways hopefully this event turns things around, I watched more tape than usual this week and I think these are 3 solid plays. Each guy has an obvious and likely path to victory.

While I agree with your "picks", I can't say I endorse your bets. Neer/Ludwig realistically could go either way, and Pat Barry is too horrible on the ground for me to assuredly say he can keep it from going there. Cuz if it does, he's toast. I know he's been training at Death Clutch, but still....don't see how he can have improved his submission D that much.
BOL though my friend.
Feel free to have some friendly debate as well....

Haha, yeah, my bet sizing can be kind of weird. More of a gambling style I guess. While most would have 0.5u on a huge plus money prop or longshot parlay, I'll almost always have 1u - 2u on them, just can't help but look for that big payday if I love the play.
Tomorrow my biggest play of the night will be on the only underdog I've bet on, not very unusual. I thought that line was crazy though.. while Ludwig COULD win this fight (I lost my biggest bet of 2011 betting on Amir), I think Neer has three huge advantages: ground game, chin, and cardio. I also really liked what he had to say in his recent interview with MMA Junkie:
"I'm willing to stand up with him as long as he doesn't run from me. If
he's going to hit and run from me, I'm going to take him down. If he
wants to stand up and trade, I'm more than willing to trade."
"I think the biggest thing in the UFC is I just haven't been
consistent," Neer said. "I've beaten good guys, but I've lost to guys I
probably shouldn't have lost to. I want to get in here, get a good win
streak going, and be more consistent."
I think Neer knows he can KO him in an exchange. Ludwig's chin has been questionable for awhile now.. and Neer has got a style that is going to absolutely drain Ludwig, especially if it gets to the ground. If it hits the ground, Ludwig should get destroyed..
As for Barry, yeah, if THAT one hits the ground I'm in trouble. Barry actually has really good TDD though that is only getting better (only been legitimately taken down ONCE in his UFC career), and yeah Morecraft does have good jiu jitsu I dont think he has the skills to tie him up and get it to the ground with sub attempts like Struve did. Morecraft's just too sloppy.. this fight was made for Barry to win, I thought this line was going to be closer to -250.
Always down for friendly debate, glad you agree with the picks, GL to you too

gsprush man, sucks you didn't hit that Barboza/Etim distance prop. I got a girl I went to the fights with to bet a $20 6-pick parlay on my account, all distance props. It was worth over $600, she went 5-1, only losing on the o2.5 rounds for that fight!!

. With you on the Neer bet, but against on the other 2. Hopefully we can hit some of our prop bets or some fights on the undercard and both come out on top. Try to talk me out of the Guillard bet I am placing for 3 units. I know he is a head case, but damn his physical skills and fighting so close to home makes me really lean towards him. Are you only against him cause he is a mental midget or do you think miller can grind him down and would win even if Guillard does not beat himself. Like I said good luck and hopefully we can both turn a profit.

Good Luck CT - lets get some of that 142 $ back. The diffference between winning and losing last week was silva. Hopefully thats my last fuck over for awhile

Congrats on the night man.... Hope you climbed out of your hole. Should have went with Miller I knew Guillard is to crazy to keep with what was working.

Thank you guys, I'm still a little blown away!! 3 first round finishes, didn't have to sweat anything (though after watching the fight videos now that I'm home, I would have had to sweat if I wasn't at work just reading the play by play on my phone!)
I loved that Barry escaped some submission attempts, I didn't see the fight playing out like that. Just awesome! And Guillard, lol.. I figured Miller would get it to the ground, but didn't count on Guillard throwing FOUR flying knees in the first 2 minutes. Only a matter of time til Miller got the TD off one of those.
deserted hope you did well tonight!
bense
jaymon thanks dude, sorry I didn't reply to your earlier post, been at work for the last 14 hours! I thought Guillard would play it smarter than that..
sawman definitely got that ufc 142 money back, sucks you missed that Neer/Ludwig prop, I was sure that would go to round 2 at least..
Long-tu, thanks buddy!! Erased the Rumble loss let's keep it up next weekend..

nice work - that prop was not very smart on my part. did ok picking winners. I have one more unposted bet: denis/brenneman/easton/patriots that will put me on the good side.
FYI, not sure if anyone else feels that Easton absolutely stole that fight. nice to be on the good side of a fuck over!
