Ofcourse there will be fully packed stadiums..Have you not see MLB ball parks absolutely packed in every stadium...Pretty much every state is 100% open.

So you feel the rules at college campuses will change from last year, even if covid continues to make a strong resurgence?

With the dramatic spike in cases recently there will no doubt be an effect on players for sure, missing games, that's almost a guarantee. As far as teams overall and fans, that remains to be seen but rest assured, nothing is off the table. Younger people, especially non vaccinated, are getting hit harder by the Delta strain. This is no longer something only ''old people" need to worry about, it never was to begin with, but there will be Covid complications more prevalent on "younger people" as we are seeing now and the games and Universities in general will be affected, sadly. To what extent remains to be seen.

Of course it will be an issue, just hopefully from a betting perspective the info on who is in/out on gameday is more easily attainable than last year.

The SEC says if 85% of players are vaxed then no testing. Big12 says there will be testing for the unvaccinated, rules not set yet.
The PAC12 is taking a wait and see, will determine in August how to proceed.
The BIG10 looks like they will delegate it to each university as some require vaccination to attend, some do not.
The ACC has not yet produced any rules.
What is known; Breakthrough infections are becoming more common in Europe and Asia. Those vaccinated who are infected usually have non-severe symptoms. Mass majority of hospitalizations and deaths those not vaccinated. No data is available for those with natural anti-bodies from previous infections.
My take; I see UK and France looked to have peaked (still early) and here, maybe Alabama too. Right now, looks like these spikes are short in duration, peaking fast and then dropping. Hope so! My guess is before Aug 1 Florida will be dropping too. I'm no disease expert but do watch the numbers. Florida had a surge same time last year. Seasonal? maybe. What will happen in the rest of the country is anyones guess. Would expect a seasonal rise in Oct/Nov like last year. Some/many vaccinated players/staff will get infected. Believe SEC rules are wrong, vaccinated need to be tested too. Myocarditis still could be an issue.
Sure would be nice if this shit just goes away!! I see issues Oct/Nov/Dec.

That'll be the biggest problem for bettors, just like last year.

We can reduce our risk by knowing which schools require vaccinations .. 6 in the ACC do for instance .. and for others I'd suspect coaches / AD's will be happy to widely publicize if they have high vax rate and suspect conferences will be releasing their vax rates anyway .. either way there's def an unnecessary risk being taken if not tracking that .. oddsmakers will be no doubt on top of it ..

That is a very good point. I got burned a couple times last year. We need to be more thorough this year which to me suggests holding off betting until game day. ONly way to minimize the chance of getting stung by late week announcements

Best thing to do is find a website or blog that follows a team you have on your radar. Examples are Mgoblue for Michigan and Eleven Warriors for Ohio State Buckeyes. When Buckeyes had an away game last yr EW would often report who they didn't see get on the plane.
Hard to keep positive tests secret! "Keep an ear to the ground."
Also watch positivity rate of state and county a team is in. High positivity rates would have greater probability of players testing positive. Very low positivity would mean less probability and I would not be as concerned nor look so hard for intel.
And waiting til kickoff may not get you the best # but could save a bad bet.
@mrusso
Yeah, posting Aug 1 very, very optimistic. I do hope and believe it won't get crazy until the peak season, Oct/Nov/Dec. Still see Florida peaking early August. Just a laymans guess.

It certainly will...It is unfortunate...Its hard enough to beat the books under normal circumstances...Not knowing if key players on a team you are backing will be on the field and playing versus a line that indicates that they will, is hazzardous...We almost had this thing licked, but the moron anti-vaxers are Fing it up for everyone...And if you have not been vaccinated, then I am talking about you...
