There are four games I will be wagering on.. Oklahoma.. LSU.. Georgia Tech.. and Louisiana-Lafayette. I've watched all four teams in action. I've watched all four teams opponents in action. Here's what my eye's have told me..
Oklahoma is simply the better team. Don't care about what's down on paper regarding Mizzou's defense being amongst the tops in the nation, blah,blah.. judging from what I seen out there on the field, Oklahoma actually has the more impressive defense. Oklahoma has the better offense, as well. Oklahoma covers the (-3) spread all day long against Mizzou.
Inspite of LSU's offensive woes, they will still be able to put up enough points on Auburns defense to win. This will not be last weekend's shoot'em up, shoot'em up, run amuck by both squads.. Newton will have a tougher time looking like himself against this LSU defense. No points for me, LSU moneyline.. with a smile on my face.
Georgia Tech is simply the better team. At times, Clemson seems unaware on how to stop the run. Problems stopping the run.. and you gotta play Georgia Tech?? Not to mention, Tech's defense get's after it. Once again, no points for me.. Georgia Tech moneyline.
Louisiana-Lafayette covers the (-6) because what I've witnessed between them and Western Kentucky with my own two eye's is that the spread should be closer to (-18), but it's not. Western Kentucky plays as if they aren't really that too concerned with losing 16 in a row. Inspite of Louisiana being (2-4) losing to teams that over-matched them, they at least put forth an effort. Louisiana over-matches Western Kentucky and covers the (-6) easily.
Other teams I've seen play and are in consideration would be Hawaii (-3.5) at Utah State, but I might be leaning closer to the "over" if I were to play it.
Texas Tech (-2.5) at Colorado, though, Colorada scares me at home.
Western Michigan (-7.5) at Akron, one team plays football.. the other team doesn't.

I like that you pick on what you have seen... I watched Oregon destroy the #2 team in the country Stanford (my opinion) a few weeks back, and that is why I made a pick on Oregon last night. I simply knew they would get it done.
As for WKY, they are definitely a team having plenty of trouble this season. I have seen Clemson play pretty good this year. LSU looks like a tough sell at only 5.5, but that is maybe what they want you to think. Oklahome is built to beat a team like Mizzou... they will have their troubles down the road.

Hey, I appreciate it Lakers34kb.. I'm simply going with what I've witnessed watching these youngsters play. If my eye's weren't playing tricks on me and these boys come out being consistent.. should be a winner.

What has been so impressive about OU? It's 2 pt win @ Cincy.. or its 3 pt win vs Air Force.. or it's 7 pt win vs Utah State.. or is it the 81st pass D...

What about the absolute domination of FSU..or spanking of Texass..Finch will be the x-factor @ Mizzou and the Sooner D will shine against a very slow Mizzou offense...

Just like Texas last week you have to ask yourself when do you get a chance to get such a low line on a top 5 historically quality team (in Texas at Nebraska it was 9.5 pts). When OU played Mizzou a couple of years ago with Chase Daniels the line was 14 or so I believe and everyone was on Mizzou cause they were ranked high. The game was over at halftime, not even a contest with Daniels tacking on some meaningless TDs at the end of the game.
Think the oddsmakers were protecting against the sharp money (based on value) taking Mizzou at 7 to 10 points ala Ohio State last week when the line came out 6 and dropped to 3.5 or 4 (and Bama the week before). Those were significant moves across important numbers (6, 4.5, 5, and 3.5) meaning big money moving to the dogs. This line hasn't moved. I think this line will get a lot more money played on Missouri with people thinking upset (note I said money, not picks). Had the line been in the 7 - 10 range I would have been on Missouri based on value, now it doesn't look attractive).
Mizzou is good and OU can certainly be beat but I have to go with history here (OU owns Mizzou). Think Stoops watched Oregon run it up against UCLA?
Personally I wouldn't bet this one as more value on other games, but if I had to I'd put my money on OU. If you want an upset, try Northwestern as that line is moving (opened 7.5 now 5.5 moving across 7, 6.5, and 6)...that is a money trail.

I think Auburn will turn that smile upside down, E1 is on the under, I see a shootout, LSUs defense hasnt seen a qb like Newton.Auburns defense is a hair just above terrible, but they get the win none the less...

FSU game was at home.. and really- a spanking of Texas? or a 8 point win that UT had multiple chances to tie late in the game and a game that the Sooners were out-gained in.. and Texas' QB (who we all know looooves to throw it), went 27/41 for 266 yards.. Gabbert might throw for 400 yards..

Bob Stoops: 123-29 overall 12 years
Gary Pinkel: 73-46 at MU (10th year) and 146-83-3 overall

Putterspitt.. I would imagine everyone was on the under when Arkansas came to town, eh?
I'm pretty sure Cam Newton doesn't really cause the concern to LSU's defense as everyone may think.. he will be, for the most part, detained. Like I say, Auburn's offense vs. LSU's defense? LSU's defense. LSU's offense vs. Auburn's defense? Tic for tac.. with LSU doing just enough to get the win.. and a win is all you need when you're moneylining them, eh?

I'll pay to see Mizzou upset them. Ala Texas who owns Nebraska, OU owns Mizzou. I'd like to see it but don't see the value in that bet.
BTW, I went to A&M and they suck. I have no idea why they have been getting lines. They looked like a high school team. So not that impressed with that Mizzou win.

i have been gambling everywkend for 14 yrs... most interesting thing i can remeber is 2010 A&M's pointspreads... i usually respect Vegas to the max but i'm watching a diff team play than they r... unreal... 4 weeks in a row now!!

I'd just say proceed with caution. Bama and Ohio State upsets both happened with big line moves and people calling those upsets. Then S. Carolina people were calling the Kentucky upset and that line was moving. Week before that Kentucky line vs Auburn was moving big.
I just don't see the value, if line was 7 then money line would be 220 and I'd see value in taking Missouri. It could happen but I'd like more points than 3 for Missouri to beat Oklahoma.
BTW, in the modern era that (since 1970) that has happened 3 out of 34 times so OU is 31-3 against Missouri.

Yeah, it is definitely possible as Kansas really sucks. But then again Kansas opened up and with a loss to N. Dakota State or someone like that and then proceeded to beat Georgia Tech.

Another note to my point on OU/Mizzou. Nebraska last week against Texas. Texas is 7-1 (one questionable win) vs. Nebraska under Brown. There was some serious value in taking Texas last week. Don't see it in this scenario.
