so if any dog wins a game that's an upset, plain and simple? You throw a case scenario that maybe in my book a 4 point dog is a upset but a 3.5 isn't?
Let's put this into a better perspective, you state any dog winning is a upset. So you're saying that if a team is a say 2 pt dog or a 1 point dog that too would be considered an upset? In my opinion, an upset is something of a 2 td or greater win, say last years app st, or better yet stanford over USC, those are UPSETS.
Look, if you are going to give reason's such as Michigan is in the SHITTY conference and such, then why would you put this game as a UPSET SPECIAL?
One final thing, I'm sick of people looking at last year's loss to APP St as fuel for this season. If that's the case, when that USC-Stanford game rolls around again, or better yet tomorrows game against Virginia, everyone and their mothers should be betting against USC since they lost last year to Stanford!!!
I'm sorry, Utah may win this game, but I just think I would take Michigan, and it seems I'm the minority around here, so whatever. But I just don't see this as a UPSET SPECIAL.
You wanna know what a upset is, just as I said APP st and Stanford were upsets, NFL side, Giants beating the Pats was a upset. You can't be a sub TD dog and be considered a UPSET SPECIAL. Give me a larger dog than that guy

JB225 ....If indeed Utah wins this game I can promise you everyone in the media will call it an upset regardless of the line.Thats just the way it is. Michigan's history as a traditional powerhouse in CFB preceeds them while the Utes continue to get no respect.....(other than from the oddsmakers.)
