Was it fixed when SMU destroyed Pitt last yr? Was it fixed when they humiliated Nevada 45-10? No, June Jones just knows how to get his team ready for bowl games..especially the defense.

I don't call it fixed but Def games have influence.. Small ways to affect the game like BS fouls on star players in NBA or ghost holding calls in the Red zone, sometimes the team still scores but I can call it like clock work, but like I said some times the heavy Fav just wins even with refs against them

Not every game is fixed, I didn't watch the 1h of this game, I took Fresno 1h and game and then took SMU 2h this game is just a straight up beat down lets see if refs try to keep it under

Every one always has a theory about games being played in Hawaii and most of them are pure conjecture that lines up with the way they want to bet. Fresno partied and SMU followed June Jones lead and kicked behind. It will all go into the bank as more info on how to bet Hawaii games and more experts will pop out next Hawaii game. It's still predicting the future and no one has a crystal ball.

If you read these forums nightly you would think almost every game is fixed. I mean there was a guy in here the other night that claimed the spurs game was fixed because there was a basket scored with 3 seconds left that killed his 8 point teaser.. In reality the logistics of having to fix a game would be quite complicated.. I believe there are a few games that are fixed each year, in college, but nearly as many as people in here believe..

Its call capitalism. It breeds corruption..etc Just the way it is son. I know games are fixed, but its still 50/50 prediction. Billions of $ is involved, there is no way around it. Contact Terry Donahy if you want more info LOL

how can you be ready for a game in Hawaii when you know your the big favorite to begin with unless you are the Hawaii football team?
major distractions. Lets face it. Fresno was distracted by whatever is going on over there and they figured they would coast through this game. Instead they were caught with the pants down.

What people tend to miss in all the "fix" discussion, is that many games that are fixed are not for gambling purposes. It's simply the league fixing it so the team they want to succeed that season win that game and have a better chance of advancing to help the league get what it wants. And then sometimes it is the owner of a team (Debartolo of sf for example) just plain and simple buying officials calls. Remember, much of what Tim Donaghey alleged had zero to do with point spreads. It was simply the NBA wanting one team to advance for tv ratings.

You mean Tim Donaghy...Terry Donahy, never heard of him. Terry Donahue might have been accused of fixing a flat UCLA team with help from Phil Donahue.

People regularly crying fix are basically pathetic losers. But one would have to be completely naive and insane not to believe that big money can and sometimes does corrupt sports results.
Obviously on paper, Fresno was 2 TDs better than SMU, but had no interest in playing this game for whatever reasons. I know Vegas is happy that Fresno tanked, and it would not surprise me if they are occasionally pulling the strings of the refs, coaches, or players in dictating the outcome.
I like making a joke that when the refs take awhile under the hood to review a play, they are asking Vegas which outcome do they want? And almost every joke has a kernel or more of truth to it.

Noone was in the stands. Fresno was dull. Carr looked terrible, and if anyone was on the take it was him. Yet they had no answer for #92 who basically put a beat down on a freshman tackle who the only thing goin for him was some cool polynesian locks.
Gilbert is a bad QB, but he did what he had to do. Winning the coin flip and deferring to the 2nd H--huh??? Fresno coach was in his 1st bowl game and 1st yr coaches are winning at a paltry 20%.
SMU gave zero indication they would show up like they did. Their red zone offense was garbage all season, and at times we saw it, but Fresno should've hit the 40s had they took control from the start.
Deferring? All they did to start the 2nd H was PUNT.

I lived in Charlotte NC in the mid 80's and played basketball middles between Ohio and NC with a partner in Ohio. The book in Charlotte had a 10 dime limit to certain players per game.In Ohio we could only bet 500 per game with multiple books because my partner was a notorious middle player and could cripple smaller guys with his action. He had dozens of out all over central and NE Ohio. We play book in Charlotte every week because he had better numbers. One night he calls me to see how much we can bet on NC State (Jim Valvanno) in Ohio vs Duquesne Line in OHIO -18 in NC -22 We eventually bet $5,000 for him and $1000 for us telling him number was -20.5 . At half time score was 18-18 were sweatin, NCState pulls away in final 5 minutes to win by 26! He called that game the Alumni special.Large school donors get tips when to bet games that is how a lot of activities are funded! He also had ties with Virginia basketball!

LOL I am the biggest advocate of the fixed theory as Iv put many in their rightful place here with facts when they try and say games arent fixed but I will say this, NEVER GO AGAINST JUNE JONES No matter who he is coaching WHEN HE IS IN HAWAII, 12 points was a gift, and I think many overlooked that angle.

Millions of dollars are at stake and I 100% agree that sports is FIXED. If the players did everything with integrity, these books would be slaughtered and out of business. Why we gamble? Because anything can happen and just hope to get a good "read" against Joe Public and be on the winning side. Whether you view this as another part of investment, gambling will never go away and you can bet, the fixes will never go away.

Very good point pack. I agree with you for the most part. The thing i adamantly disagree with is pro player fixing. To think that a high profile player would shave points or fix a game is absurd. They are making millions on millions and you're telling me they are gonna take a payoff to jeopardize that?? Please. I agree with the possibility of refs, in some sports, and in college but those.people who think pro athletes fix games need to get their head examined
