Let's say Oregon beats Washington, FSU beats Louisville, Michigan beats Iowa, Texas beats OK State, and Alabama beats Georgia in a close game.
What 4 teams would end up getting in?

@Nklaiste99
Michigan, Fl St, Oregon, and Texas.
Michigan and Florida St are easy because they’re both undefeated and won their conference championship. Bama would move past Georgia because they beat them, and Texas over Bama because they beat them. Easy
Now let the chaos begin…

Tin foil hat guy says SEC wont let Bama beat Georgia and risk an SEC team not getting into the final 4.
I think FSU is far more talented than Louisville, but the NCAA may not want to see them in the final 4 with a backup QB?
This is why long long long ago, we needed to make this an 8 or 12 team playoff. We're really getting screwed out of what could have been a dynamic playoff this year with many many deserving teams

Florida ST isn't guaranteed with a backup. Remeber they have been on record stating they will pick the best team. I have mixed feelings on that. At this point there are probably 6 or more teams that would beat them with that backup but it is a team game and if a team is undefeated in a big conference I am not sure I like the idea of keeping them out for an opinion.

no way the committee leaves out an undefeated FSU team, especially beating UF and LV with their backup QB. there would be a lot of uproar over that and hard to explain away that they performed well even with a backup.
it's likely
Mich
UGa/Bama winner
Wash/Ore winner
FSU or Texas
but the OP does point out the toughest scenario. FSU winning and Bama winning and Bama getting in over Texas, who beat them by double digits at Bama.
Bama luckboxing a win at Auburn doesnt help their case either.
Texas deserves to get in over Bama simply by h2h win at Bama. and that does make me think Ga may get in regardless of SEC championship game...or SEC ensures Ga wins.

The only certainty is that the PAC 12 gets a spot...the only scenarios where either Oregon/Washington do not get in the top 4 would be some hideous upsets.

why? because they are the 2x national champ?
Michigan wont lose to Iowa. they are in.
Oregon/Washington winner is in.
FSU wins they are in. If not, perhaps Texas is in.
If Georgia loses to Bama, then what? Do you ignore that Bama beat Georgia and Texas beat Bama by double digits on the road (the biggest win by any team this year in CFB)?
The committee is going to have fun, but Ga has an incredibly poor OOC schedule. Baby soft and one they should be penalized for. And only 2 good wins, both at home, a squeaker win vs Mizzou and a big win against Miss. If they lose to Bama, I'm not sure they deserve a final 4 spot

not sure why ga should be an auto bid if they lose, imo at least... the committee may feel otherwise but... using that logic then texas would have to be in as well bc they beat alabama so if ga loses to them along with their soft schedule... assuming that oregon does win as well... you would have to have at least 1 team with a loss or possibly 2 and imo texas is by far the best team with 1 loss
