I HAVE BEEN COLD THE PAST 2 WEEKS NOT SPENDING MUCH TIME PICKING GAMES HOWEVER THIS WEEK I HAVE A FEW DAYS OFF AND I WILL BE WRITING UP ALL GAMES I'M ON HERE IN THIS THREAD. WITH THE ADDITIONAL EFFORT I DEFINITELY SEE ME BOUNCING BACK....HERE WE GO......
PLAY #1
Cincinnati was caught in a tough schedule spot playing away at Toledo on Saturday with this big Louisville game on deck. I believe they got caught looking ahead a bit and dropped a very tough but winnable game for this Cincy team. Louisville on the other hand won on Saturday coming from behind against a struggling USF team. The Cardinals are a team that no question have a great QB in Bridgewater however their defense has been a liability which has been a surprise!! It was thought coming into the year that it would be its strength on the team.
Cincinnati has been solid all around playing tough defense and offensively getting the job done with a great running attack. In this game I believe the Cardinals will be simply overmatched by a better more experienced Bearcat team who has won Big East Championships 3 out of the last 4 years. In big games like this defense is what makes the difference and Cincy definitely has the better D. Also the coaching advantage has to go to Butch Jones as he will have his troops ready to bounce back in this Big East conference game.

Maryland has put together a nice little season so far. Playing very good defense and on offense making enough plays with 5 star frosh Stefon Diggs. Not to mention his Good Council high school teammate RB Wes Brown is having a pretty good year himself. Last week however these guys lost a heartbreaker to NC St at home missing a short FG at the end of regulation to win it. This was a tough loss to swallow not to mention they lost their starting QB for the season and are now down to their 3rd string QB. Traveling to BC will not be easy considering these circumstances. Boston College this year so far is 1-6 however looking at their schedule they have played heavy weights in FSU, Clemson, NW, MIami and GA Tech. In a couple of those BC showed alot of fight and kept it tight. Offensively for the Eagles, QB Chase Rettig has been having a pretty good season throwing 13 td's and 5 ints. Where they have struggled is running the football and stopping the run. However when you face the opponents they have it's almost impossible to be successful in stopping the run against those teams. Maryland offensively behind the 3rd stringer will have a hard time moving the football on the road here. Now there is no question Maryland on defense is stout but where there is a weakness is in the secondary and I believe Rettig will be able to find some holes and make some plays to get the W against an emotionally down Maryland team. I'm gonna back the Eagles here who's stock is very low to get a much needed win for coach Frank Spaziani.

BOSTON COLLEGE -1 LARGE
Hermes - I wouldnt classify GT or Miami as a heavyweight, more like a paper weight this year...that being said BC has had the tougher schedule..
Rowe, the stud frosh QB is not much of a dropoff from their #1. Diggs is a playmaker as WR and KR/PR. I just see Edsall as the the X-factor in this game.

IOWA GOT WHOOPED UP PRETTY BAD BY A DETERMINED NITTANY LIONS TEAM AWAY. THEY STARTED OFF REAL SLOW AND THEN JUST LET THINGS GET OUT OF CONTROL. STUD IOWA RB WEISMAN WAS A NON FACTOR WITH HIS ANKLE BANGED UP AGAINST THE TOUGH DFRONT OF PENN STATE. THE PASSING GAME LOOKED HORRIBLE AS WELL BUT I'M BANKING ON THEM TO TURN IT AROUND THIS WEEK. NOW KIRK FERENTZ RARELY LOSES TWO GAMES IN A ROW AND ON SATURDAY IOWA PLAYS AT NORTHWESTERN WHO'S COMING OFF A DEVASTATING LOSS TO NEBRASKA LAST WEEK. NORTHWESTERN ALSO HAS A BANGED UP STAR RB IN VERNIC MARK AND THEIR TWO QB SYSTEM HAS BEEN A DISASTER THUS FAR. NORTHWESTERN'S BEAT UP SECONDARY IS SWISS CHEESE AND IOWA WITH KEENAN DAVIS AND THE EXPERIENCED QB VANDENBERG SHOULD BE ABLE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS WEAKNESS. NOT TO MENTION RB WEISMAN WILL BE HEALTHIER. I'M GONNA BACK FERENTZ OFF A BAD LOSS TO HAVE HIS TEAM READY TO PLAY AGAINST AN EMOTIONALLY DOWN WILDCAT TEAM.

Wow who wouldve thought?!!! Oregon St is 6-0 and #9 in the nation! They have won games behind the very efficient QB Sean Mannion and the play calling of HC Mike Riley. Also their defense has been coming up big for them!! However last week Oregon St was fortunate Utah coughed the ball up 4 times and despite Utah owning the time of possession and a poor offensive output by Org St, the Beavs came away with a victory. This week they play at Washington a team coming off a terrible loss to Arizona. The Huskies seem to have a very hard time against Spread defenses not to mention they coughed up the rock 3 times themselves last week. Believe it or not Washington is improved on defense and against pro set teams like Oregon St they have faired well. USC had a tough time moving the football through the air against Washington and I believe Mannion will struggle as well in his first game back from injury. The Huskies at home seem to be a different team and off a blowout loss you better believe Sark will make sure these guys are ready to go. I believe Oregon St may be a little too overconfident for this one and I wouldnt be surprised if they drop one here. Either way I see this as a field goal game and I will be backing the Huskies at home.

Southern Cal, to many has been a disappointment. Barkley has been out of sync and with an Oline not able to protect him as well as in years past. The depth just hasnt been there and when some guys went down with injury on the oline they have been exposed. Good news for the Trojans is they play a team this week that has had a very hard time pressuring the QB. Arizona's defense ranks 113th in the nation and there is no reason after a confidence building win that USC doesnt annihilate them. Barkley will have all day to to throw and Silas Redd will take advantage of this undersized unit. Now defensively USC has a tough task stopping Rich Rodriguez's spread however USC's defense has been pretty good this year ranking 30th in the nation and I'm sure Monte Kiffin has these guys well prepared to stop this attack. Theres no question that the Cats will have some success but I believe the Trojans will make enough stops to keep this game out of reach. Southern Cal does have Oregon coming up next week but after suffering a loss earlier in the year to Stanford I do not see the Trojans overlooking the Cats here. Barkley is determined to get this team back in the National Championship picture and they will get the W here on the road.

I like it. Actually think UW wins a low scoring field possession critical type game in the rain.
