I thought it was kinda funny that they missed the extra point though. It actually gave Miami a glimmer of hope at the end.
The smart thing to do is to sit on it(not just because I had Miami +4) and eat the clock.
The reality is that in the moment, on national t.v, were all taking that thing to the house. I would too. Can't blame the kid.

every year this happens...if he does the smart thing and takes a knee, lots of people get pissed and say "he could have scored and changed the outcome of the cover., i lost big $$$....and on the other hand other people come on here and say "why didnt he go for a free touchdown, i cant believe it , the game is fixed!"
this is the true definition of " a rock and a hard place!"...obviously the kid should have gone down, but do you think he knew how many time outs miami had left and his interception closed it out??..... or how much time was left in the game!...he is just a college kid and has a chance to score a college touchdown...what do you think will happen 90% of the time!...hell, even in the pros they do it to....to pad their individual stats so they can ask for more $$$ at contract time!!.......
you really cant blame a college kid!
congrats to all you lucky marytland winners...they should have had 40+ points anyways!....and tuff loss for all you miami players.......like i said a rock and a hard place!

You are right that it is fucking stupid. He can be happy that he won on the pick-six, but you don't know football if you suggest the player should have scored in that spot. There is no room for argument. To suggest otherwise makes you just as retarded as the moron player. This is fucking stupid.
