Herbstreit is EXTREMELY overrated... in terms of his in-depth knowledge of CFB....simply because he states his opinions with eloquence/confidence.....people eat that shit up
watching the end of Duck/Wisky game.....he says..."you mean the clock started before the ball was snapped?" er.....yeah Kirk
tons of examples....at years start...he proclaims the Ducks as the nation's best team (despite heavy losses in the trenches....> couldn't block or tackle Auburn with a better OL/DL) ...........better than Bama or LSU....!(STUPID).....immediately doubled my LSU ML bet.....
these guys don't have the time to study/know what's really goin' on.....their opinions should be (considered) because they often talk to coaches/players.....
he and Big Game Brent.....are pretty damn good tho

Bookie, I heard that at the end of the Rose Bowl, I was like WTF, kind statement was that. But these guys are definitely in the know and have a different feel or insight then we do, reading, and watching, It is certainly his opinion, he could be down on the field watching warm ups, in locker rooms and in his opinion just feel as though, WVA did not come to play or Clemson is pumped up, On game day he definately adds insight, but you are right speaking with confidence certainly helps, and if he said it will be the biggest spread of the bowl games, it does carry some weight.
As of now, I think he has no fucking clue, this looks like its going to be tight all night, and you cant beat him and Brent and him, you know Brent is picking his brains

he's a LOT better than most for sure... to me usually they only offer surface level stuff.. meaning > quoting stats...so-so has a good pass D ++
occasionally you get something good/useful.......but rarely....
how about?.....
Pitt has the nation's #23 rush D.....but faced the #100 schedule of rushing O's.........
SMU with #23 passing O....but faced the 82nd toughest pass D's...
Ark St D pretty good right ?.....#22........but faced a schedule of #119 best offenses....
Herbstreit and others...give us the 1st stat...seldom the (WHAT WE NEED).....2nd one
that Jesse Palmer and David Pollack show pretty good though...guys that know the game...and actually study film.....Herbie / Corso and others...don't appear to be doing much film study
