sorry, this is a pretty outdated perspective... hear the same thing about NFL scouts, NBA GMs, ESPN analysts and so on...
just because someone is or was getting paid at one time or another does not make them true authorities... there is a difference between a publicly recognized authority and a true authority... if you don't get this, it is because you are not a true authority...
Lou Holtz and Mark May are the most overpaid people... anywhere... Mark May in particular is a complete idiot...
however, i HOPE TO GOD Lou is right this time... of course, it is a 99% certainty that he isn't... but if SOMEHOW (please God please let it happen) ND makes it to the NC game to play Florida, i will seriously (very seriously) sell and mortgage every penny of everything i own and lay it blindly on Florida no matter what the spread is... and anybody out there in their right mind should do the same...
anything less than (-30) would be the gift of a lifetime... and since ND would have to be undefeated, the line would probably be more like (-16) or less...
unfortunately, God isn't that nice, and such a gift of gold could never come that easily...
projected score (seriously): 66-17

The Game has passed him by. What does he know? All he ever states is that ND will be best the team out there. Didn't he say that they would win 10 games last year? Didn't he say the previous year they would win 10 games? He is the most biased person in sports. As a analyst you are not supposed to be biased you are supposed to be neutral. His knowledge of the game may be superior then mine, but I know a dumb statement when I see one.
Also one thing I know about experts in any sport.... is that most of the time they are wrong about predictions.
