Going to wait on the line as there is a small chance we see 3.
Just love this matchup. A&M playing some of their best ball of the year to finish up. Giving them a ton of confidence going into this game. They won games this year they would normally lose - they beat Oklahoma, Baylor, Nebraska and Texas in succession. This is a huge game for A&M, this can put their program back on the map, a bit.
I get to play on two things I like...a QB advantage and a coaching advantage. Miles wins a lot of games, but tends to have too many brainfarts for the typical coach.
I like this matchup just about everywhere on the field. LSU isnt going to throw anything at A&M that they havent seen - tough defense, check, tough running game, check. A&M has seen and beaten better teams than LSU already this year.
I see this game as a running game mainly because of how bad LSU is passing. Forget Jefferson, their WRs drop more balls than anyone else in the country. They are quick, but terribly inconsistent and have poor hands - and this is all counting on Jefferson being accurate. Working against Jefferson, though, is the fact that he always holds onto the ball a bit too long - in comes Von Miller who A&M sends on the blitz often.
Tannehill is back to his natural position and showing why he never should have been moved in the first place. He is judicious with the ball and always seems to make the right decision.
LSU just hasnt scored on many sustained drives this year. Their scores usually come via a big play. With the experience on the A&M defense and expecting players to come out a little tight on both sides, I dont see many big plays happening. That means I think it will be tough for LSU to score - trick plays not withstanding. You know Les is going to throw at least one wrinkle into this game.
Dont want to drop too much more as all of this can end up meaning nothing, but this is why I am making my bet(s).

As a long time Baylor follower, I've rarely seen Baylor beat A&M in my lifetime.
At any rate, I like both plays. I like the under better.

DTown - When the hell did you break 100K?? Congrats man. Thats some impressive stuff.
Lar - You mis-read, or I wasnt clear enough. Those two statements were not correlated, they were related, but I wasnt saying because of one was the other.
They have won games this year they would normally lose - one point. They beat OU, Baylor, Nebraska and Texas in succession - a pretty impressive 4 game stretch this season - another point.

I kind of agree with everything you are saying even tho I have a pretty big play on LSU......but when you say LSU usually just scores on big plays, you're right that is what good teams do. They find ways to make a big play and score. Does it matter to you if your team scores on 1 big play (which carries momentum and is a big factor in CFB) or scores on a 8 play 6 minute drive? A big play could be the deciding factor in this game....I guess it comes down to who is going to make it.

I just dont think LSU can obtain the big play with any consistency.
Say LSU makes a big play and scores, they stop A&M with a 3 and out....do you really have the confidence LSU can score again? I dont. Therefore I have to go with the offense that I think has the better chance of sustaining long drives.
In this game, where neither team is a consistent quick-strike offense, I would rather have the team that can sustain a drive.
It doesnt matter to me how my teams score, but I like the idea of having the team that has the ability to sustain a drive. Second half, LSU will probably be the more tired defense and I will take that every time.
Who knows if I am right, but I did put my money on the line.

yeah A&M may have better sustainable drives.....but do you agree that LSU has the better D and obviously from a better confrence. That is basically why I took LSU.....better D, better confrence and imo better coach.
I'm just picking your brain.....respect your posts

I mean LSU did play half their schedule vs. ranked opponents and went 10-2 in the best confrence in college football.
I don't get why LSU isn't getting that much respect from people it seems.
Dont know if you knew this or not, but Texas A&M played 6 of their last 9 games against ranked opponents. Lost just the one to OSU because of having the wrong QB in the game. Having said that, I would not know who to side with on this game. Both good Defenses and Offenses. Could be the toughest game of the bowl season to lay money on this year thus far. GL to everyone betting the spread or total in this coin toss of a game! Should be a fun game to watch.

I think LSU has the better defense, yes. But I like the matchup for A&M better.
Meaning, l like the way A&M offensively matches up with LSU defensively better than the way LSU offensively, matches up with A&M defensively.
I think the A&M offense is just a bit better to make up for that. A&M has also seen better defense than LSU plays, so I dont think its going to cause them too many problems.
I dont agree with the better coach theory. Sherman is just as capable as Miles - I actually think Sherman is much better at the Xs and Os of coaching than Miles. Hes a much better game manager as well.
Who knows if the SEC is the best conference in football. They are top heavy, thats for sure. But I dont put any stock into conferences once you step outside the WAC and MAC etc. I think all the big-boy conferences are the same. They each have their power teams and their crappy teams that make the power teams seem better than they are.
LSU is getting a ton of respect from people. They just arent from the books.
I feel its A&M that isnt getting the respect. Most people I talk to dont understand why the line is so low, but I am like, how much higher you want them to make it? A pick is where it should be.

An offense that only scored 9 points at home against Nebraska doesn't impress me. Shitty teams like Colorado and Iowa State put up points on Nebraska. LSU's D is much bigger and quicker than Nebraska's.
If this game was being played in College Station I might agree with you, but on a "neutral" field LSU has a defensive speed advantage that A&M hasn't seen all year. This same LSU defense did the best at containing Cam Newton.
